Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1s):

Holman, is it true that you just busted a filling out of your mouth? Five seconds before I crack the mic’s open? Yep.

Sean P. Holman (10s):

And we’re leaving tomorrow.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (12s):

I know,

Sean P. Holman (12s):

Right? So no time for any dental work, so this should be fun. Are

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (15s):

You slurring?

Sean P. Holman (17s):

No.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (18s):

I You are? A little bit. I’m not. You’re gonna have to not. Yes. You gotta correct for that.

Sean P. Holman (21s):

No, I’m not slurring.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (23s):

Oh, I’m sorry. Does it hurt?

Sean P. Holman (25s):

Not yet. Oh, okay. Got ice water here. Oh,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (28s):

Let’s see. Here’s the test. Does it hurt? No. So it’s not on the nerve. That’s good. Okay. All right, good. Just, well then we can do a show just

Sean P. Holman (37s):

Cutting my tongue open with every moving

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (41s):

Word. All right. Every moving word it is The Truck. Show Podcast. My name is Lightning. He’s Holman and he hates when I say that. Welcome to it. On this episode we got Joe Z. Zorro is his last name, and he owns Taser. You ever heard of Taser? Well, he actually owns Z Automotive that makes the taser and a brand new device.

Sean P. Holman (59s):

Device. So he owns a lot of tasers. Whole inventory.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1m 2s):

Whole inventory tasers. Although he’s probably having a hard time keeping ’em in stock because they are incredibly popular. And if you haven’t heard of a taser, then you must not listen to this show. But the taser is a device that plugs in line with a lot of the vehicle’s sensors and you can manipulate your truck, your Jeep, to do all sorts of really neat things on Mopar stuff. Right on Mopar right now, I hope he spreads his wings into some other makes and models, but

Sean P. Holman (1m 28s):

Tasers beside the point, he has a new product out that does what your igla does more. Well, that’s

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1m 32s):

What I was getting to. Yes. So

Sean P. Holman (1m 34s):

We’ll,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1m 35s):

We’ll some security.

Sean P. Holman (1m 36s):

Yeah, we’ll talk to him about that. And so what’d you guys think of the Nissan Armada that dropped last week? We had our, our episode. Dude, I, I had to bite my tongue on that one for a while out.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1m 47s):

Is that how you posted your, your

Sean P. Holman (1m 48s):

Tooth? No, that was from biting my tooth. Oh, okay. Now that it’s out, I’m reading everybody’s reviews, like everybody’s as stoked on it as I am. So I was like, okay, good. So

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1m 55s):

Were you worried that the general consensus would not be the same as yours? No,

Sean P. Holman (1m 59s):

Not worried. But it’s one of those things where, you know, somebody releases something new. And I. See, I, I guess because I have a little more insight, I’m like, wow, I see all the little things here. Does everybody else see it or do they just see the one photo of the outside and then go, you know, yay or nay or whatever. But people are like, wow, the interior’s amazing. I had a lot of people with the Off-Road package where they’re like, this is gonna replace the Land Cruiser and just lots of comments. So anyway, we, we posted up on a truck show podcast on the Instagram So You should check that out. So if you haven’t seen the new Armada, definitely check out and listened to our last episode, which was our, have You Heard with Brent Hagan from Nissan. So

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (2m 33s):

Pretty in depth. You’ll like it. Yeah,

Sean P. Holman (2m 34s):

It’s cool. So speaking of Nissan, Nissan is the presenting sponsor of The Truck Show Podcast. And we usually talk about the frontier, but we should definitely give a nod to the upcoming Armada, which should be out within the next couple months. At your local dealer.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (2m 46s):

Do you know if you can place an order for it?

Sean P. Holman (2m 48s):

I don’t know that. And they have not announced pricing yet. Ah, so that’ll be coming hopefully in the next few weeks. Or

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (2m 55s):

So. You could call your local Nissan dealer and say, reserve. I’m sure you could reserve one. I’m reserve. I’m Joe Smith and yeah, exactly.

Sean P. Holman (2m 59s):

Yeah. Hey, whatever the first one is like, put my name on the list. Gotcha. For sure. So anyway, lots to like with that package and also lots to like with their mid-size truck, the Nissan Frontier. So the 20 fours are getting cleared out now to make way for the redesigned and refresh 20 fives, that nice interior update with the screen. Oh and the til and telescoping steering Wheel had a, one of our listeners is like, I can’t believe it. My Nissan Frontier’s gonna be worthless. Now it has the screen I want in the, in the til telescoping stereo. I’m like, your Nissan’s gonna be fine. Right? They, they hold their value. Yes they do. So anyway, if you’re, if you’re in the market, that’s

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (3m 31s):

The thing that like set ’em over the edge, it

Sean P. Holman (3m 33s):

Makes all the difference. So if you’re in the market, definitely head on down to your local Nissan dealer or go to nissan usa dot com where you can build and price a Nissan Frontier and look at photos of the brand new Nissan Armada.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (3m 45s):

And as you know, if you have a diesel pickup truck boost tubes are, they tend to blow over time. And by that I mean the booze tube is out of the turbo into the intercooler, outta the intercooler and into the intake manifold. And they’re held all together with rubber boots. And over time the rubber boots, they flex a lot because the engine is moving around this and that and they, they burst. And the factory pieces are expensive and they’re really restrictive. So if yours bursts it’s time to upgrade to a bank’s boost tube. They’re massive, they flow considerably more air.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (4m 25s):

You’ll feel the improvement in throttle response almost right away. If you’re interested in a set of banks boost tube upgrades, go over to Banks Power dot com, type in your year, make and model and explore yours.

Sean P. Holman (4m 35s):

So Lighting, are you in diesel competition? Did

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (4m 38s):

You, you know, I am.

Sean P. Holman (4m 39s):

Sled poles drive races

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (4m 40s):

Every Sunday.

Sean P. Holman (4m 41s):

Dino challenges Saturdays are you using AM oil’s dominator competition diesel

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (4m 45s):

Oil seven days a week.

Sean P. Holman (4m 46s):

So that means you can enjoy the confidence and security that come with providing diesel trucks maximum protection and performance. You get wear protection, you give viscosity control and you get an oil that can withstand extremely high turbocharger heat. That’s

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (4m 59s):

Right. Praise on my

Sean P. Holman (4m 59s):

Brother dominated 20 W 50 competition. Diesel oil is compatible with other conventional and synthetic oils. But if you mix AMS oil with those other oils, it’ll shorten the life expectancy and reduce the performance benefits. No. However, if you use AMS oil on its own, yes, it’s long lasting, which means that you can do multiple events between oil changes and you can use AMS oil’s, oil analysis program to determine the appropriate drain interval. They’ve got it. API CK four, cj, four CJ four plus CH four, Cummins, Mac, Volvo, caterpillar, Reno, Chrysler, Ford, all of that good stuff. Use that when you are working your diesel hard out on the racetrack.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (5m 32s):

You know me. Hallelujah.

Sean P. Holman (5m 34s):

You can find out more about Dominator competition diesel oil at AMS oil dot com. AMS oil is the first in synthetics.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (5m 40s):

I feel like that’s a, we should make a jingle for them. Like Dominator m dominate ator. Alright, well Chin gears to EGR USA. They’re friends.

Sean P. Holman (5m 47s):

What? They don’t get a song

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (5m 48s):

At EGGR. No. No. It doesn’t work. No they don’t. you don’t think that like that? Okay. Their products are much better than my jingle. So if you are looking for the ultimate retractable bed cover, the roll track is what you’ve been searching for. If you’ve got a Jeep Gladiator, if you’ve got a Ram, you got a gm, either a Chevy or GMC, you got a Ford F-150. If you have any one of the most popular trucks on the road, EGR has a roll track manual or electric retractable bed cover for you. Head over to EGR USA dot com to explore all the different bed cover options. And I’m telling you, when you get this thing on your truck, you’re gonna be like, oh, Lightning was not lying.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (6m 31s):

This actually is the best to cover I could possibly spend my money on. So head over to EGR USA dot com and if I’m lying, I’m dying.

Intro (6m 39s):

The truck show. We’re gonna show you what we know. We’re gonna answer What The truck. Truck Rod, The truck show We have the lifted We have the lowered and everything in between. We’ll talk about trucks that run on diesel and the ones that run on gasoline. The truck show. The truck show. The truck show. It’s The truck show with your hosts Lightning and Holman. Alright,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (7m 18s):

It is time to call Mr. Jo Z. Joes Zorro of Z Automotive fame. And let me go here. Pull up his cell phone and dial. Hello. There he is, Mr. Josie Lightning Holman truck show podcast. Josie.

Sean P. Holman (7m 41s):

Hey,

Intro (7m 42s):

How’s it going guys?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (7m 43s):

Outstanding. I was gonna

Sean P. Holman (7m 44s):

Say it’s going way better now ’cause Don don’t have fricking four cylinder mode making droney drone noises on my 3 92. Well, all

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (7m 49s):

I get Well you’ll get to that. You’ll

Intro (7m 50s):

Get

Sean P. Holman (7m 50s):

To I know, but I’m excited about now.

Intro (7m 52s):

I

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (7m 52s):

Know, I know. All right, Joe, you always have to pick it. So it’s bluegrass or hard rock. What? Death metal. What do you want? Bluegrass or death? Metal. Let’s call

Intro (8m 0s):

It

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (8m 0s):

Bluegrass. Bluegrass. Here we go.

5 (8m 6s):

Innovator. Innovator.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (8m 21s):

I Don. Dunno if that I Don think that was actually, that’s not bluegrass. That was the right one. You didn’t play the right one. No, didn’t play the other one. We talking Right. He said Blue used the, were the one that said let’s call it bluegrass. We have two.

Sean P. Holman (8m 29s):

We have two of them. What? What was the other one?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (8m 31s):

This one. Oh

Sean P. Holman (8m 31s):

Yeah, that’s the death metal

Intro (8m 32s):

One. This is Dodge. No, we were innovator more truck show innovator. Oh my god. Truck show innovator more. I gotta play the whole thing now I, here we go. Oh no. Hold your ears. Show truck show. Man. That hurts my throat.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (8m 53s):

Oh my

Sean P. Holman (8m 54s):

Gosh. We haven’t played that one in a long time.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (8m 55s):

It’s, it’s been a minute. Alright, Mr. Josie. That’s fine.

Sean P. Holman (8m 58s):

Well, is

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (8m 59s):

Hold on,

Sean P. Holman (8m 60s):

Innovator. Hold on. I got a bone to pick with him. Well

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (9m 2s):

You don’t to start out by insulting him. I’m not

Sean P. Holman (9m 4s):

Insulting him. My job. That’s, I just, I’m just asking why he always responds to your emails and not mine. I feel so sad.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (9m 11s):

I I don’t know. I text him. Oh,

Sean P. Holman (9m 12s):

You text that. Wonder.

Joe Z (9m 14s):

Oh, text The texting works better dude.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (9m 17s):

Me, me and Joe are here. We’re tight.

Sean P. Holman (9m 19s):

All right, so, so So You guys will know Josie. He’s been on the show before. He is the innovator of the taser, which is a device for Mopar vehicles. GI

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (9m 28s):

Like to call it a lifesaver.

Sean P. Holman (9m 29s):

It is unbelievable. And the fact that it’s constantly getting better with updates over time. So think about a device you would plug in the case of, let’s say my Jeep, you plug it in, you can do things like your, you know, your tire size and your gear ratios and all that kind of basic stuff. But then you can make it so it doesn’t honk three times when you get out with the keys in it or it, it doesn’t do the autopark when you open a door when you’re backing up a trailer or a gazillion other things. You can do a light show.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (9m 59s):

You can do pin lock, And, I, do my light show. I can wag it left to right. Yep. I’ve, so if you ever see with the taser DT for the, the Ram dt, all of them TR Rx 15 hundreds if you like the Amber dls. Do you ever drive down the street and you see Amber dl You the white ones Time White. That’s the guy has a taser. Yeah, that’s how he did that. That’s how I do it.

Joe Z (10m 19s):

Yeah, that giveaway.

Sean P. Holman (10m 20s):

Or if you’re sitting there in a parking lot and all of a sudden somebody does the key fob trick and then there’s a light show and so taser, right? So they put a thing on social media and they’re like, Hey, does your Mopar do this? Dude so funny. So they had, obviously we were showcasing the taser and there’s a certain sequence you push on your key fob and the light show goes off. So they kind of like tease like, if you have any Mopar, you can do it. So all these people that had chargers and challengers and ramps, they all started doing it. So I had all these friends, I must have had seven or eight people. They all thought

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (10m 51s):

It was a secret menu in your

Sean P. Holman (10m 52s):

Key fob. They sent it to me and they go, why won’t, why won’t mine do that? I’m like, mine does And I was send ’em a picture of mine doing it back

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (10m 58s):

And you didn’t tell me how to TAs

Sean P. Holman (10m 59s):

It. And I didn’t tell ’em how to taser burn. So at the end it was like, okay, you need a taser. But that was hilarious ’cause so many people were mad that they didn’t have the functionality and they realized, oh, I can get it. But

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (11m 7s):

I think your social guy started that.

Joe Z (11m 8s):

We got a bit of hate mail over that one. I’m

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (11m 10s):

Sure you, but that started, wasn’t it an April Fools joke? I didn’t it start around April Fools or No? Did he just do it?

Joe Z (11m 16s):

No, no. He just did it outta the blue. and he said, you know, and he put in the comments, you need to have a taser. But no one reads the comments. No, of

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (11m 23s):

Course not. No, they don’t. They don’t troll through the comments, the thing.

Joe Z (11m 26s):

And we have people saying, you know, I ran out here at 3:00 AM to try this and it doesn’t work. What the hell?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (11m 30s):

So the thing that I love that I think is one of the, it’s probably one of the, like, it’s just no big deal for Joe just to add one of these things. But it’s my, well it was my favorite feature. I have new ones now, but up until today it’s been my favorite feature. Every time I turn off my truck, it folds the mirrors in and it’s so great because The truck is just so freaking wide and I’ve been, I’ve had other trucks before and you’re in a Home Depot parking lot and a big guy walks through and he clips it with a shoulder fold and it folds forward fold out, or it breaks or whatever. It, I love it so much. I know it’s like silly, but it’s, I I would buy it just for the auto folding mirror feature.

Sean P. Holman (12m 6s):

So there’s a, there’s a few other things. So obviously force rear Wheel drive on the all Wheel Drive stuff A TRX or a Wrangler 3 9 2 in my case. But some of the stuff that’s really cool is if you have the small radio and you wanna upgrade to an 8.4, you can do that. If you have non LED lights and you wanna put LED lights on your regular, you can change that with the taser so that you have the right power going in the computer recognizes that you have LEDs, you can enable disable factory fog lights. You can, you know, enable the trailer brake controller. So like if you have a gladiator and they make a trailer brake controller that goes where the sugar cigarette lighter is. But you need a software update at the dealer that’s gonna cost another 150 bucks. Well the taser can activate that menu.

Sean P. Holman (12m 47s):

You can enable and disable all, all sorts of things like blind spot detection, the seatbelt chime, reminder par your park sense. You can change the cl the splash screens in your cluster if you want.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (12m 57s):

Things like that. Oh, I got another one that I love. I have my front facing camera. Yep. It automatically goes on when I approach something close. So You, you’re like there always curious how close to the wall are you? Because like, is my truck really as big as I think it is. And then you slam into the wall or, or or you don’t or you get out and it’s embarrassing ’cause you’re seven feet away. Like, but now, so as soon as the proximity senses, it turns on my f forward facing camera and it’s brilliant. How about,

Joe Z (13m 20s):

Yeah, that is my favorite feature. How about it’s a must have use

Sean P. Holman (13m 24s):

Garage door opener after shutdown, So You turn it off and your garage door opener opens up. Or the other thing is this, this is one of those ones where you don’t think you need it until you’re in it winch mode where it’ll bump up the RPM if you’re winching someone Oh, like

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (13m 40s):

A high idle Yeah,

Sean P. Holman (13m 41s):

Exactly. And then dark mode, which turns off all the exterior Lighting, the dash radio shifter lights if you’re parked with the engine running, which that’s nice. Like especially if you’re at like a a, a rest stop and you wanna sleep for a little while and you

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (13m 52s):

Just what about it? Or about hunting

Sean P. Holman (13m 52s):

And or that and you wanna just have like the AC going and the car idling. You don’t have to have all these lights on. I, one of the ones I really lo like is the fact that obviously you can engage lockers and two Wheel drive in high on demand, which is huge. And I also like turn assist, which is like the Bronco trail turn where if you do a sharp all the way to lock and you’re on a sharp turn, it locks up the inside rear brake and allows you to make a sharper turn like on a switchback or shelf road or So

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (14m 21s):

You just ski something that you just skiing and and dragging it around. Yeah.

Sean P. Holman (14m 23s):

Yeah. And so the PI pivots on that back Wheel instead of rolling with it. And then that allows you to make a sharper turn. So do

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (14m 29s):

We even need Joe on the phone with us? We’re just gonna talk about it without him. Well, we’re

Sean P. Holman (14m 32s):

Not even talking about the taser, we’re just setting the stage because something else recently came out and that’s really why we’re here.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (14m 38s):

Joe, take us through your brand new device. No Limits.

Joe Z (14m 44s):

Okay. So we have no limits. We have one for the DT and one for the Wrangler JL and, and the Gladiator GT jt. So they are similar in function, but a little different in what they do for, for both cars. For the dt it removes the speed limiter without affecting the factory warranty. So it doesn’t write anything to the PCM. It can’t be detected by dealer tools in any way, shape or form. But go as fast as you want. That was the main purpose for it. But then in I I, I’m never satisfied. I’m never finished. So I look to add more features in if I can And I put in a blocking function to keep keys from being programmed to the car.

Joe Z (15m 30s):

So it’s, it’s an added security feature. If you have a No Limits DT or jl, someone tries to program a new key for, for it to steal the car and there’s no way, shape or form, there’s no way they’re gonna do it. So it’s kind of security for free if you will.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (15m 42s):

Let’s not understate how

Sean P. Holman (15m 45s):

Important that is important

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (15m 46s):

That is because before Joe did it, there’s another brand that I happened to have And I had it before. Yep. And, and thank God I did. And Joe knows about it. Yep. I had, because he didn’t offer that feature and now he does. Now in hindsight I would’ve gotten Joe’s, I would’ve gotten the no limits. But, so,

Sean P. Holman (16m 3s):

So let me, this could be, just so we’re clear. So DT is current generation RAM 1500 and then obviously JLJT, our Wrangler Gladiator. And then the No Limits can be used by itself or it can be stacked with a taser because it’s in a completely different part of the car. It plugs into your Green Star connector on a jl, which is behind the dash. You have to take a few things off. I was able to install mine in literally about 12 or 15 minutes. I mean it was that fast. And all

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (16m 31s):

Factory connectors.

Sean P. Holman (16m 31s):

All factory connectors, the instructions were super easy. So I, I told Joe And I email, I’m like, I wanna send you my money. Like this is amazing. Mostly, yeah, obviously the security thing’s important because I have to park outside every once in a while. Like if I’m back from a trip, I might leave the Jeep out on the driveway for a couple days before I put it back in. So that, that’s huge. But the real reason was on a 3 92, the drone in four cylinder mode is freaking annoying. So there’s a couple things going on. One is just the way, it’s the wrangler’s a giant open, you know, box. And so everything just resonates in there. And then you add the V eight and it wants to just, you know, doubly

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (17m 9s):

Do that and you sound, didn’t

Sean P. Holman (17m 10s):

And I sound

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (17m 11s):

That as much as you can possibly sound didn’t. And it still

Sean P. Holman (17m 13s):

Resonates. It goes into four cylinder mode. And the other problem is four cylinder mode. There’s a lot of like warranty issues with it, with it going in and out causing issues. So there’s some premature issues with engine failures and things like that. I

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (17m 25s):

I heard it really messes with the lifters.

Sean P. Holman (17m 26s):

Yeah. So I

Joe Z (17m 27s):

It does. It’s been like that for years. Yeah.

Sean P. Holman (17m 29s):

And they, they, it it’s, it’s a known thing. I don’t want that happening. And then the other thing is, so like imagine you’re driving cross country, right? I drive to Colorado in my Jeep all the time. I just got back from a trip when in fact I was able to install the No Limit. So I’ll even back up. So I begged and begged said, let me throw it in. There you go. We don’t have any in stock, but we’ll get your one shows up at my house. Just, just shows up. And I’m like, yeah. Right. So got in it, installed it, went on a 2200 mile trip if off full like 600 miles of off-roading. If that isn’t a, a indicator of, you know, the durability or reliability, zero issues, no force cylinder mode, hardly any hit to fuel economy at all.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (18m 9s):

No check engine lights,

Sean P. Holman (18m 10s):

No check engine lights, nothing flawless. And the thing is, imagine you’re driving cross country, you’re on a 10, 12 hour drive and you’re going through the mountains because the altitude’s changing and the, and the, you know, pitch of the road’s changing. You’ll be like, and then it’ll go, oh I’m cruising in four cylinder mode. And then you go to the hill, then there’s like a laziness between getting out of four cylinder mode and then downshifting to where it needs and it’s just like drones and drones and it’s gets really fatiguing on long trips. So I was like, this no limits is cool and when I red it got rid of four cylinder mode And. I’m like well that’s gonna be a durability thing. That’s also gonna be a fatigue thing for me. And then I went on to so much better, so much more enjoyable.

Sean P. Holman (18m 50s):

I never have to worry about four cylinder mode again. And I can’t thank you enough Joe. Like that has, that has made the one big thing about the 3 9 2 that I I’m not in love with. And now Don don’t have to worry about it it before it was like auto autopark, you know, or the three, right, the three honks on the trail. ’cause per perfect example, I keep my keys in my pocket ’cause I’m out spotting people, right? So I may drive on an obstacle spot people. So my taser was great ’cause if I had my key in my pocket, I’m not locking it in the car and I’m gonna get out to spot somebody every single time you’re leading a trail ride. Ho ho huh? Yep. So like those were the two things that were previous. The last thing remaining that I hated was four cylinder mode. And now it’s like just glorious V eight noises all the time.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (19m 32s):

You’ve got your dream jeep now. Now. Yeah

Sean P. Holman (19m 33s):

You did thanks to Joe.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (19m 34s):

Yeah. So Joe, without giving away any secret sauce here, how do you defeat it? What do you tell the vehicle, the

Sean P. Holman (19m 44s):

ECM to? You mean how to defeat the OE programming? Correct. Correct.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (19m 47s):

Yeah. How do you keep it from going into mode, not

Sean P. Holman (19m 50s):

Mode to defeat the the No.

Joe Z (19m 51s):

So a normal way you do this is you go in and and re program the PCM and tell it that there’s no speed limiter or tell it that there’s no MDS but in doing that you’re voiding your warranty ’cause that you, you know, they can tell you changed the calibration No limits is what’s called a man in the middle device, which gets in between the PCM and the rest of the car. So I’m able to manipulate some of the data as it flies across. To simply put it, if you’re going 80 miles an hour, I’ll tell it it’s going 80. If you’re going 140, I’ll still tell it you’re going 80. Ah. So the PC m doesn’t know any different this way. There’s no way to detect it. There’s no harm in telling it that it’s going a little slower than it really is. ’cause it’s just the PCM that knows that every, the rest of the car knows you’re going 140.

Joe Z (20m 33s):

So while your safety still system still work, speedometer still works, odometer works fine. The only difference is the PCM is not holding back power on you. And similarly I do that for keeping the MDS off. I just tell it that it’s not MDS ready simple command to say no we can’t do MDS right now. So it doesn’t, same thing with trust control. I,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (20m 54s):

Well lemme stop you right there Joe. What tells, what are the circumstances? ’cause we honestly don’t know. What are the circumstances that the ECM or PCM we’re talking about? The engine control module or the right or the right, the main module? Well,

Joe Z (21m 8s):

Power chain control module.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (21m 9s):

Yeah. Power chain control module. Okay. So then what is it looking for to say, okay, we’re, we’re, we’re, we’ve checked all the boxes right now we’re in flatland. We can go into Fill Force Hill inter mode.

Joe Z (21m 20s):

It’s, it does a lot of its own calculations. The PC M for engine load and RPMs and there’s like a hundred parameters, but it does get some parameters from the a BS controller and from the, and from the transmission controller. So I’m basically telling it that the transmission’s not ready for MDS and it keeps it out.

Sean P. Holman (21m 37s):

Well and then so just

Joe Z (21m 39s):

So I just had to pick one parameter.

Sean P. Holman (21m 40s):

Yeah. So I was gonna walk through real quick because, so here’s on the JL product, the J no limits. So Disableds factory speed limiter. So obviously if you’ve got mud terrain tires that aren’t speed rated, you don’t wanna be doing, you know, one 20 or something. So be be smart about it, but it takes it away. Great. Four passing or, or a quick drag run where you’re not limited at the end of the racetrack, that kind of stuff. Disabled speed and torque limiters in four low, which is nice because you get all the power. So for somebody like me that doesn’t want the computer to override their driving, I’m not a huge throttle guy. I’m not a hammer down guy, I’m a finesse guy. Well, sometimes computers get in the way of finesse guys off road because it’s, you know, retarding the power available when you’re trying to modulate over stuff and it’s going, oh, in case this guy slams down, we don’t want all this power going through the drive train.

Sean P. Holman (22m 27s):

So we’re gonna artificially limit it. Well me as somebody who likes to drive, that gets in the way of, of my style of driving. So that’s really nice. Disables torque management system and traction control disables MDS in the 3 92, which is the multidi displacement system or the four cylinder mode allows full power and two Wheel drive on four xe. So when you do four rear Wheel drive on the taser, you’re able to get all the power, which is super, super cool.

Joe Z (22m 50s):

That’s on the four xe, the the hybrid Wrangler, which

Sean P. Holman (22m 53s):

Is, which is awesome. So in the hybrid, so

Joe Z (22m 55s):

When you’re in two Wheel drive on the hybrid Wrangler, it limits power, like seriously limits power, but the no limits allows full power. So, You could do burnouts with the four by eight now, like easily,

Sean P. Holman (23m 5s):

Which is awesome because that thing has, has plenty of torque to do it too. So yes, all you four XE guys with a taser who are like, I love force rear Wheel drive, except for it doesn’t have power. Well guess what? Now you can fully enjoy it. Like as 3 92 guys can blocks access to the RF hub. So that’s the key programming issue. That’s probably the biggest thing for most people. Well,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (23m 23s):

Can can we pause there and and go to that? Sure. So talk through again without giving away how you’re doing it specifically, but for those people. Listen and, and Joe, I’ve gone on for months about my personal issue, my truck being broken into. And luckily I had what I call And I, forgive the term, but I call it a CAN bus shunt. I don’t know if that’s accurate, but it’s what I call it. And it just, it makes it so they can’t put the vehicle into key pairing mode. And luckily I had that on my vehicle. So they broke the window, they got in, they connected to, they climbed in, they connected to the CAN bus and they tried to put it into key pairing mode and then they would connect their little Android tablet or whatever they had and tell it that that’s the new key.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (24m 6s):

And as soon as the vehicle said, okay, you have a new key, they could just drive it away as if the key was in their pocket. How does your device work and what does it do?

Joe Z (24m 16s):

So without using names, the other product, of course I have my hands on one so I can see what it does and how it works. And it took me probably about 10 minutes to figure out how to go around their key pairing block. I think I’m the only person that knows how to do that to date because Don don’t think any, any vehicles have been stolen with that yet. So

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (24m 38s):

Don’t jinx me please that

Joe Z (24m 40s):

I’m not gonna, I’m not gonna share that information on how to do it because I’m not that guy. But I’m just, I just know that it, it did have a weak spot. Okay. And it didn’t take very long. And I know these criminal, these crime ring guys are pretty smart. So if someone’s gonna figure it out at some point. So I just took that a step further. I figured if that can be beat, I gotta be a little bit smarter to be able to, you know, not use that method. So I took it a couple steps further. As far as I know, I don’t think anyone’s gonna get around it.

Sean P. Holman (25m 7s):

The issue I had with yours, And, I said it on the air, was I didn’t like the secretiveness around what somebody’s doing to my vehicle. Where I didn’t know what was involved. I know exactly what’s involved with this product. Well you,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (25m 18s):

You don’t, I mean, you don’t know what’s dna.

Sean P. Holman (25m 20s):

You might know where it is. I can, the nice thing about Joe’s product, the no limits Well

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (25m 24s):

’cause you’re installing it. You’re

Sean P. Holman (25m 26s):

Installing it, but there’s no permanent modifications. Nothing gets reprogrammed in the vehicle. Again, it can be turned on or off at any time. It’s simply a plug and play. You reverse it, you’re done. And it doesn’t leave a footprint. I

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (25m 37s):

Would assume you wanna hide it though, right? I mean if someone, well,

Sean P. Holman (25m 39s):

But it’s buried behind the dash. So it’s not like the on yours, they just pop the headlight switch out and they connect right there. This, you would have to spend 10 minutes moving stuff outta

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (25m 49s):

That vehicle. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. My device No,

Sean P. Holman (25m 51s):

No, no. How they would get into your vehicle without the device. Right. Like it through the headlight switch is how they did on yours.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (25m 58s):

Yeah, that’s how they always, yeah, yeah. Through the headlight switch. What I’m saying is the device that that prevents it right, is

Sean P. Holman (26m 4s):

Hidden

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (26m 4s):

Somewhere. I don’t, I literally don’t know where it is. If you know, I wanted to remove it. Don don’t have a clue where to

Sean P. Holman (26m 8s):

Start. See I don, I don’t like that.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (26m 9s):

I don don’t like it either. I can

Joe Z (26m 10s):

Help you find it. Oh,

Sean P. Holman (26m 12s):

Okay.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (26m 12s):

All right. Well I might, I mean, so Joe, like, let’s, let’s, let’s, let’s get realtor for a second. Let’s, I’m, I am, you know, I installed $10,000 worth of stainless steel Ballards that retract I him. Yeah. Right. So like, I’m serious about this. Like, I I, I just ran into a guy last night at Adam Cruella studio and he had his an attempted break in as well. And luckily he had the same device that I had, but they’re being broken into all the time to be stolen. Do you think that I am at risk with the device that I have? And, I should switch, switch to taser or do you think,

Joe Z (26m 47s):

Or you feel like no I think it, that’s that’s a solid product and and the reason why it’s a solid product is because it’s hidden and most people aren’t gonna figure out how to find it. So, but the beauty of the device is that it’s hidden and if, and if no one finds it to cut the wires or they don’t make a third little device like I can to get, pick it past the key programming The truck is safe. I, no one’s really, no one’s gotten past it yet. That, that, that I know of.

Sean P. Holman (27m 13s):

Well, I, I like it because I feel like I can leave with, with pin lock and no Limits, you know, pin lock on the taser, which a, you know, you have to put a code in in order to start it with that. And no lis I feel like I can park anywhere. ’cause like sometimes I’ll go to Vegas, right? It might be on my stop on the way out to the desert. I have to stay at a hotel overnight. Like, I’m always worried about it being in the parking lot or a parking structure in a place like that. And I don’t like driving into LA because of the same reason. I don’t wanna say, I feel like with the, the Z Automotive products, the taser in unison with no limits. Like I can breathe a little bit. I’m, I’m okay walking away from, you know, my prized Jeep.

Joe Z (27m 50s):

Yeah, it’s, it’s safe between the two. It’s definitely safe. you know, from my own experience, I have A TRX, I got a couple of 3 92 Wranglers. I leave them out all the time hoping that someone’s gonna try to steal one. ’cause it would be great advertising.

Sean P. Holman (28m 1s):

Yeah, it would be great. Social media cameras just pointed at it, ready to

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (28m 4s):

Go. He’s like it. Some tax write off,

Joe Z (28m 8s):

Leave it in, you know, MetLife parking lot hoping that someone will take it. But no one touches.

Sean P. Holman (28m 12s):

I was also gonna mention on the No Limits for the jl, there’s a freaking P 1400 code that owners get and this basically removes that. What is the code for that code?

Joe Z (28m 23s):

So that code is aftermarket ECU detected, that’s, that code pops up as soon as you modify the PCM. If you just simply unlock the PCM and don’t change anything, it’ll still come up. And once it comes up, it’s stored permanently in the PCM. So even if you go and put another PCM in the car, you’re still gonna have that code and that’s a red flag to the dealer that something’s been messed with.

Sean P. Holman (28m 42s):

So remember when

Joe Z (28m 42s):

And that’s, you don’t want that.

Sean P. Holman (28m 44s):

Remember when I had my supercharger? Yes. And we did the flash on it for the supercharger. Oh yeah. It was all California eo it was all legal. Yeah. To

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (28m 51s):

Check something.

Sean P. Holman (28m 52s):

We could not get rid of that code. So I would get check engine lights and Mike Rice when he was over at the local Jeep dealer, he’s like, here’s the list and this, we don’t know what’s causing these codes. Well now I know it was from the ECU being modified, so it’s in perpetuity gonna be stored on there. And I’ve seen it firsthand in previous Jeeps. They all, it’s like

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (29m 9s):

A light switch that can’t be unflip. Yeah. Right?

Joe Z (29m 12s):

Yes.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (29m 14s):

And So You are not setting this. It’s so funny, Joe, you, you’re on all these same groups that I am and, and Holman is, and you see the guys that do flash tunes all the time and in the EcoDiesel community. Yeah. It’s like, oh no, the dealer can’t see this stuff. We can wait. Or they’re like just such BS to sell their product. I’m like, y the dealer can easily see there’s, it’s called a check some PI API D. Right. Right, right. And, and and anyone, any guy with a, with a factory scan tool can tell that you’ve modified the ECM and that you put it back to stock. Like they can see that. But when yeah, your device is in line with inter it’s intercepting signals and it’s modifying the signals, passing them along to the E-C-M-P-C-M-B-C-M, whatever, those devices don’t know that they’re not getting the data from the sensors of the vehicle.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (30m 4s):

Nothing’s being changed permanently. You, once you remove the taser or the No Limits, it’s like it was never there. It doesn’t know that it wasn’t speaking to Yeah. The other body parts.

Sean P. Holman (30m 13s):

It it’s a, it’s a physical connection. Yeah, there’s software involved and that’s the magic of what Z Automotive does. But it’s physically inserted along the wiring harness. And then Joe, I was gonna ask you like for example, what type of draw can you expect from a taser or no limits? Is, is it a few milliamps? Is it, well just ’cause people are always curious. They’re like really kill your battery. Well I’m putting this thing in here and now I have a draw. I can’t find where’s that coming from? It’s always nice to know that you’ve designed with a product with that in mind as well.

Joe Z (30m 42s):

Yeah. When, when they’re in sleep mode, the taser pulls about 7 million amps and then the limits pulls about three I think. And the vehicle itself pulls close to a hundred when it’s sleeping. So it’s, it’s not enough to make a huge difference. And if you’re starting the vehicle for three weeks might make a day difference ’cause you only talk on a few percent.

Sean P. Holman (31m 2s):

Yeah. So

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (31m 3s):

It’s inconsequential ba

Sean P. Holman (31m 4s):

Basically the moral of the story is if you have a modern vehicle and you’re gonna leave it for a month at a time, just put it on trickle charger and then that way you don’t have to worry about it. But at the end of the day, the no limits and the taser aren’t gonna be a problem with a battery drain or anything like that.

Joe Z (31m 19s):

Right. It’s funny, I actually added to the, to the, the J, since the J pulls so much current when it’s sleeping and they’re known to kind of go dead after a couple weeks on their own and they have added to, added to the taser. They they do And I I added to the taser latest code, but I never actually even posted it anywhere. If you turn the vehicle off, forget what you have to do, turn the vehicle off while holding one of the buttons. It puts it into ship mode like, like when it’s sitting in the deal deal a lot. So it pulls about 60 million amps instead of pulling 90 or a hundred.

Sean P. Holman (31m 44s):

Oh that’s kind of interesting. Wait, that be great for

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (31m 46s):

Story. Wait, wait, how do you do that again?

Joe Z (31m 48s):

Ah, I gotta look it up. I don’t remember what it did. Okay,

Sean P. Holman (31m 51s):

You

Joe Z (31m 51s):

Turn the vehicle off I think, I think, I think you hold down the mute button when you turn the car off. That’s why

Sean P. Holman (31m 57s):

Lightning

Joe Z (31m 58s):

And then it’ll ship mode on the dash. Yeah, it’ll say ship mode on the, on the dash. But you gotta keep in mind when it’s in ship mode, the the remote control doesn’t work. Do I need

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (32m 6s):

To bleep you out? Are you saying or shift Ship?

Joe Z (32m 10s):

Ship

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (32m 10s):

Ship mode.

Sean P. Holman (32m 12s):

Ship. Alright so ship mode I wanna swap over to No Limits. dt it’s a a little bit different than the J. So disables factory speed limiter, disables tork management system and traction control disables MDS on any of the MDS equipped engines completely blocks access to the RF hub for the key issue. Speed limiter MDS Torque management functions can be turned on and off at any times any time. Simple plug and play installation silently override speed limiters, torque management, no permanent mods, nothing in the vehicle gets reprogrammed cannot be detected by two dealer tools and it also leaves the PC M alone. So again, no dreaded P 1400 code and it doesn’t need to be like, like the no limits on the jail. It doesn’t need to be unmarried or pulled before you go to a dealer visit.

Sean P. Holman (32m 54s):

you know, some people, depending on how fr aftermarket friendly your dealer is te you tend to un marry the, the taser if you’re in warranty period. Just in case a dealer’s like, wow, what’s this most good dealers don’t care because it’s not doing anything but you don’t have to do that with this device. And so those are a few of the differences in between those two products.

Joe Z (33m 16s):

Yeah. For the DT mean mainly people want it for one of two reasons. It’s either to block key programming or to go really really fast.

Sean P. Holman (33m 22s):

I like both

Joe Z (33m 23s):

Those things really, really fast. It’s really, it’s really what pushed it because we had a lot of requests to go over one 18 being The truck is gets to one 18 so fast and then falls on its face.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (33m 33s):

It’s so funny ’cause he, I talked to Joe and he’s like, do you need to go over one 18? and he said it And I stopped. I paused. I said I guess I don’t, I guess I don’t need to go over

Sean P. Holman (33m 44s):

One 18. I just wanna know. I could if I

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (33m 46s):

Wanted to. I mean if I lived in Texas I would say absolutely I need to push the tires to their limits. but I am in California and there’s really nowhere And I mean it’s 4:00 AM on the two 10 freeway maybe. But I it’s right. I I don’t have

Sean P. Holman (34m 2s):

Wanna know you could do it on a desert

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (34m 3s):

Road and just push it. I, I guess So you,

Joe Z (34m 5s):

A lot of people race these things. They take ’em to the tracks and put slicks on them. Do and race, you know, we’ve interviewed and they put, you know, yeah. So there’s a, there’s a big following for that and that’s one of the main reasons without losing their warranty, you know?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (34m 18s):

Yeah, that’s smart. Now Joe, what do you, are you ever gonna segue into like the Chevy guys because they are crying for like they’ve gotta use a, there’s a bunch of boxes out there that’ll turn off the MDS, whatever Chevy calls it go into four cylinder mode. Right. And like there are some, like you are needed, like you’re Superman but you’re only helping one community.

Sean P. Holman (34m 41s):

He’s only helping Metropolis, but he is not helping Ham

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (34m 44s):

Gotham’s like, we need you Joe. and he is like, the light is only showing shining over this city. He is like, I can’t come to your city. you

Sean P. Holman (34m 52s):

Know, that’s not my logo in the sky.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (34m 53s):

He must be that other guy. He’s like, he’s doing all these other people dirty. They’re like, we just wanted, but I realize you’re a one man, you’ve got a team, but really it’s like you are the brains of the operations. So are you ever gonna expand into the other, you know, Chevy

Joe Z (35m 9s):

GM parts? I can say I’ve, I’ve played with the Chevys and the Fords ’cause I make a a Lighting controller for it, you know, to make it flash like police car. We sell that through a third party. But I know the Chrysler like the back of my hand at this point, 15 years worth of, of hacking these cars and the Chevy and the, and the Fords. I really don’t know that. Well not to say I’ll never get into ’em ’cause I very male white, very well might. But right now the, the Jeep and the Rams are really, really where it’s at. For me it’s a, it’s a big undertaking to take on another, to take on another platform completely. Everything’s different.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (35m 44s):

Yeah, I mean I guess you once, you know kind of the underlying, not code per se, but their strategy, how stellantis ram, whoever it’s are their, just their platform. Their platform. Yeah. You can keep build, you can follow them along as they change, you can go with them. Right, right. Okay. Right. Makes sense. Anything, I mean that’s, you dropped a huge, like a mountain of good stuff on us, but is there anything else we should look forward to or any, any no limits already,

Sean P. Holman (36m 12s):

Taser, updates, things like that? I mean obviously I’ll pull my taser every once in a while ’cause I’ll go online and by the way, you guys have a really great tool for both Mac, which is huge for me ’cause I’m an Apple user. And for pc, in order to plug into your laptop, update the firmware on the taser, which is super easy to use. Works great. A lot of companies, they don’t invest at all in the Mac side of things. So that’s one of the things I love about the product is I don’t have to go borrow a laptop to get it updated. And I usually, you know, you guys are pretty good about posting updates on your social. So I follow that or I’ll check it on the website. Anything coming that we should be aware of

Joe Z (36m 48s):

For the taser? Nothing that I can talk about right now. There’s, there’s, there’s always little things in the works and I’ll always put little updates out. But we are working on another product that’s really just security based that will take on our competition and kind of beat them out in every, in every, every category I can think of. Wow. I like that. That’s all I’m gonna say about that for now. I like that. It’s gonna be really nice. Glance out. Oh yeah, we’re we’re talking like you can’t steal a car even if the car is off. As soon as you trip the alarm it locks all four breaks and holds them there. So, You can’t even tow the car.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (37m 22s):

Very interesting.

Sean P. Holman (37m 23s):

You know, then the cartels gonna come up with a forklifts.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (37m 25s):

Very interesting. Now you’re gonna have to do you, I mean on one of my videos I made a joke about, I’m like, you’re not moving my car. You’re gonna have to airlift it out. And I. Don’t know any thieves that have access to helicopters. you know, I mean, it, it’s, that’s where you’re going with this stuff.

Sean P. Holman (37m 40s):

Careful what you say. ’cause that one guy’s listening. He’s like, I have a helicopter. Have

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (37m 44s):

Helicopter. I know, right. Hey Joe, do you hope to have it out by SEMA or is this further out?

Joe Z (37m 53s):

It it might be. It might be. It, it, it depends, it depends on a lot of factors. There’s, there’s so much that goes into it. ’cause there’s so many different cores that we cover.

Sean P. Holman (38m 2s):

So if we find you at SEMA this year, we should talk to you. Maybe that’s what I’m hearing. Maybe you probably

Joe Z (38m 7s):

Should,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (38m 8s):

Yeah. Okay. Okay. You might be close enough to divulge more information about it. Alright, I like that. All right.

Joe Z (38m 14s):

Yeah, I’ll have more details then. Sure.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (38m 15s):

That’s a good tease. Well,

Sean P. Holman (38m 16s):

I just want to throw out there, thanks for, you know, sending me the no limits. I’ve absolutely made my vehicle more enjoyable. And then just my level of stress watching everything lightning’s gone through at his, I’m not putting Ballards in my driveway and I’m not putting four different alarm systems and stacking ’em on each other. And I’m not going, I just, I’m not having a headache rack built. I’m not putting armor plating over my windows. I’m not, I’m not doing any of that. I just wanna enjoy my damn Jeep. But

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (38m 46s):

Your, your Jeep also is not as stolen as the TRX. So there is some of that.

Sean P. Holman (38m 52s):

Okay. But it’s not like, it’s not stolen either.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (38m 55s):

I’m not saying it’s No,

Sean P. Holman (38m 56s):

It’s the same. So now I don’t have to worry. I’m not gonna say I Don, I don’t worry about it. But my level of stress for, for wondering if my Jeep will be there in the morning when I go out, if I have to park it is lower, is way lower so that the fact that I don’t have, you know, have to worry about MDS, the, the problems that are associated with that going in and out. And then also just the drone and fatigue on long drives. And then lastly just, it’s just so much more enjoyable. Just period. Like it, it, I don’t know. I, I’ve got over 3000 miles on the Jeep with the No Limits and taser installed together. And again, I taser I’ve had since almost day one. So that’s, I’ve got 23,000 miles on the Jeep and the last 3000 miles with the No Limits installed, flawless zero issues.

Sean P. Holman (39m 41s):

So

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (39m 41s):

Let, let me tell you how, what we’re getting at here, I, it just occurs to me, there are a lot of aftermarket parts companies that make parts because they think they have to, or they’re, they get some requests from their fans and they set on a course to make a, a, something that fixes an issue or they want enhanced performance. The difference here though is Joe is the guy that owns the company and Joe owns all of the vehicles than he makes parts for. and he goes on road trips and he goes, man, this thing sucks. It should have been done like this. And then he goes back to the lab and he fixes it. And it turns out that there’s a lot of us that are enthusiasts just like Joe. So he’s not a guy like making stuff because he thinks that people might like it.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (40m 24s):

He’s making can ’cause they’re needed.

Sean P. Holman (40m 26s):

Can I simplify this for you? Sure. Joe’s making things that make his cars more enjoyable to him and then selling ’em to you.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (40m 33s):

I love it. That’s exactly right. That’s it. That’s pretty

Joe Z (40m 35s):

Much how it works. Yeah,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (40m 36s):

Exactly. That’s exactly right. Doing the Lord’s work.

Sean P. Holman (40m 37s):

He, he went, I’m gonna make this better for me. Oh, there’s other people who want this, I’ll sell it to you. And that, that’s where we’re at. So, right. So Joe three

Joe Z (40m 44s):

Honks scared me one time. That was it.

Sean P. Holman (40m 45s):

Yeah. Right. That’s how that works. Well, it’s funny ’cause I’ll get into, you know, I’ll get a manufacturer vehicle or something like that that doesn’t have my taser in it, and I’ll forget, like I’ll back outta the driveway with the, you know, try with the door open, it slams it into park and you’re like, what was that? Or you get out, you know, to, to pull groceries out of it and the keys in your pocket while it’s still running. ’cause your kid’s in the backseat. Ha ha ha. you know, you’re just like, oh, damnit, I wish I had a taser. I wish every set of keys that got handed to me also had a taser on the key fob. So we can get away from this ridiculousness. But thank you for, for all the stuff you do. And again, we’re huge fans of the product, you know that. But I’m telling you guys firsthand experience, zero issues vehicle way more enjoyable.

Sean P. Holman (41m 28s):

Go to Z Automotive dot com, you can check out the, the no limits and if you, if you don’t have a taser and you’re frustrated by all those stupid little things, get yourself a taser as well because it’ll transform how you use your vehicle.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (41m 39s):

And, and by the way, when you go to zia Automotive dot com, he’s purposely buried the no limits because it keeps selling out. So it’s not on the homepage. Don’t think he pulled it off the website, he buried it. Go on products and then search all products and then you’ll see no limit on the menu and then you can get it there. But like you people are animals. You keep selling ’em out.

Sean P. Holman (41m 58s):

Yeah, that’s why I had to wait till the second batch to get mine.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (41m 60s):

Yeah, right. I know.

Joe Z (42m 1s):

Yeah. Sorry about that. We didn’t realize how hot it would be. Yeah.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (42m 5s):

Alright. Thank you very much for staying up for us, Joe. I know it’s like 3:00 AM your time.

Joe Z (42m 11s):

No problem guys. Thank you very much for having me on.

Sean P. Holman (42m 13s):

Yeah, no problem. Talk to you soon. All

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (42m 15s):

Right. The Automotive every, everybody take care.

Sean P. Holman (42m 17s):

All right, bye. Byebye. By the way, you know what we didn’t talk about?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (42m 21s):

No. What?

Sean P. Holman (42m 22s):

It’s 275 bucks. Like it’s just not that expensive for, for something that intercepts the RFID re-keying issue.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (42m 30s):

Let me put this for

Sean P. Holman (42m 31s):

Less than 300 bucks, you don’t have that

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (42m 33s):

Issue. Lemme put this in perspective. You’ve spent more on a dinner with your wife.

Sean P. Holman (42m 38s):

No, no, no. Let’s put this in perspective. What are you at all in on yours?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (42m 43s):

Well, this is not fair. That’s not fair. I’ve took mine duty.

Sean P. Holman (42m 46s):

$15,000. The

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (42m 47s):

Average person. No, your point is better. For $275, you

Sean P. Holman (42m 51s):

Have peace of mind.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (42m 52s):

You’ve locked it down. You can go to a mall parking lot or worse. Like you like Atlanta Airport, L lax. You may have, you can leave your car in the, in the,

Sean P. Holman (42m 59s):

You may have a broken window, but your car’s gonna be there when you get back. Yeah.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (43m 2s):

So it’ll suck kind of. But not all the way. No, I, I expect no one to do what I’m doing. But for $275, you’d be an idiot not to, not to invest in this. If you have one of the vehicles that it fits.

Sean P. Holman (43m 13s):

Also, they’re on Facebook and they’re on Instagram. So follows the Automotive. They’re super hilarious. Like there’s, there’s funny videos all the time. It’s entertaining. But that’s where they will tell you what updates are coming and, and all that. So I

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (43m 25s):

Feel like their social guy just does stuff for him sometimes. Like he’s just trying to crack himself up and it’s funny and it works.

Sean P. Holman (43m 31s):

Yeah.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (43m 33s):

You got some mail over there for me. Holmes?

Sean P. Holman (43m 36s):

Only if you play the jingle.

Intro (43m 38s):

You email? Yeah, I email Do it. We email. That’s right. Everybody email type it up. You email proofread. I email send it. We email. Click it. Everybody email.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (43m 58s):

All right. Holman is passing out the printed email. We could just read it off the screen, but we don’t, we’re actually printing it. We’re we’re keeping it School. Yep. We’re killing trees on paper. Yep. You wanna start or you want me to start? Go for it. All right. JL Speedo from Jason Gainor afternoon gentlemen, we record this at night, so maybe it was for afternoon for you, but it was it’s night for us. I recently changed the tires on my 22 JL Rubicon from the stock BFG to Falcon RT 35 by 11 and a half. My question is the speedometer reads the same speed as my ways. Well that’s not a question, that’s a statement, but I understand what you’re saying.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (44m 39s):

I have the taser so I can reset it, but I would’ve thought that the speed would read differently with the two inch ish bigger tires. On my 2019 Derm XLP, when I put on 30 fives, the Speedo was off about five miles per hour. At 69 miles per hour. I was reading 74 on my ways. What’s up with the Jeep? The Jeep doesn’t have the X package or whatever they call it with the 30 fives. The mileage definitely worse. And, I’m guessing that changing the tire size on the taser will give me the correct reading on that, but the Speedo is confusing to me. Thank you for your insight in advance, Jason. So he was saying that on his duramax and his Chevy slash GMC Speedo was off then if he’s asking about the the taser, so if he corrects it with the taser, it’s still not right.

Sean P. Holman (45m 34s):

So he sent on his 19 L five P he put 30 fives on the Speedo was off. Yeah. Which is makes sense. Yeah. Then he said on his 22 JL Rubicon for, he went from the stock BFGs, which are three 30 threes to Falcon RT 30 fives. And his question is, the speedometer reads the same as his ways. So either there are some error in your Speedo or there could be error in your ways at the time, try another app. So I think they all access the GPS chip on your phone, but I found that the way they calculate it is different. So I’ve had different apps read slightly differently when I’ve tested, but yeah, you should definitely have,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (46m 12s):

I don’t, don’t use those. I use, I’m gonna pull it up right here. It’s just called speedometer and I. think it was I. think it was like six bucks, version 4.9. I use Speedo and if, what I like about this one, if you flip it and put it in the windshield, it gives you heads up display. It does it upside down and backwards and, and shines it at the, the windshield. It’s really cool at night and it’s incredibly accurate. Anyway, this, this one’s called speedometer 55 GPS Speed and Heads Up display. While that’s

Sean P. Holman (46m 43s):

Complicated, it also, yeah, it also goes back to some Russian company that’s gonna steal all of the stuff off your phone.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (46m 48s):

It’s possible, but I like it a lot. And or

Sean P. Holman (46m 50s):

You can use Onyx, the dashboard on Onyx. Onyx apps. You can also, there’s a a few GPS apps that are legit that you can use. Okay. The other question is, you said it’s 22 JL Rubicon went from stock BFG. Is it possible you bought it used and the person already had 30 fives returned to stock when they turned it at the dealer and then your 30 threes were wrong and the 30 fives are correct. ’cause that could be possible also. Hmm. I, Don Dunno if you bought it new or not, but yeah, something is confusing me on that as well. Okay. I’m going to ask Lightning to put his gaze upon our pod

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (47m 22s):

Shed. I’m glad, I’m glad you

Sean P. Holman (47m 23s):

Finished that tv.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (47m 25s):

Yes. Okay.

Sean P. Holman (47m 26s):

And

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (47m 26s):

I’m gonna cast my gaze upon the pod Chad tv. Huh? What? Oh, interesting. Oh, are

Sean P. Holman (47m 33s):

We? Because I had a listener and No, you should see Lightning’s face just drained. Interesting. He says to me, this is Matt White says really Lightning not even a peep since the episode, just before UCC, this probably nearly killed you. Impressive work Embargoing yourself

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (47m 51s):

Embargo.

Sean P. Holman (47m 52s):

Good job delighting. You’ve spent nearly a year teasing us about something new, something oil related and then nothing all summer long. I probably emailed you guys what, maybe in early June. Nothing. Just kept checking the bank’s website, YouTube, even Facebook. I don’t even have an account so I check actual Facebook website and nothing. I even Google Banks oil pan from time to time. Nothing. Wait a minute until now, and you may have to bleep this out if it’s not ready, but I’m just gonna read

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (48m 15s):

It. Hold on. This is weird because this product is not live yet. Hold

Sean P. Holman (48m 18s):

On. Hmm. Cool Runner oil pans, ultimate cooling bundles. Ram air transmission pans. What? Are you kidding me? I literally just changed my engine oil. And. I couldn’t wait. But I’m almost ready to change the transmission fluid. Obviously the search results don’t actually take me to a working webpage, but they still popped up. So I took the liberty to go do some investigative work on this and sure enough on Google are the remnants of a product that isn’t live yet. Because when you click on it, it goes to a 4 0 4 page within bakes. Yet on the Google they have found your photos, your information and all that in the top search.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (48m 53s):

Yeah.

Sean P. Holman (48m 54s):

So what, what’s, that’s what’s say you Lightning super

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (48m 57s):

Weird. So as of this recording, that’s not live I right like that. That’s why you’re getting a 4 0 4.

Sean P. Holman (49m 5s):

But you’re looking

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (49m 5s):

At it, I don’t know how Google scraped that They did. Well they tried and now it’s a, so it says, did you break something at Banks? Power? Right. And it’s got a car with no wheels on it in Bonneville to sell flats. Alright, I’ll, I’ll spill the bees. Are

Sean P. Holman (49m 18s):

You gonna spill the bees so Sure, sure are. You’re not bleeping all that stuff I just said.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (49m 21s):

No, no. I’ll leave it. Screw it. All right, I’ll leave it. Okay. How

Sean P. Holman (49m 23s):

About this one by the way, if you type it just banks cool runner. Yeah. You come up with a bunch of other stuff like ultimate fluid cooling bundle. Yeah. Cool runner oil pan Don

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (49m 33s):

Don’t cool runner. Wow. This is oh,

Sean P. Holman (49m 37s):

From four days ago. So did you guys have something go live quickly and you pulled it back down? No,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (49m 42s):

No. But we’re building a new site. And I. Wonder if it’s not protected.

Sean P. Holman (49m 48s):

Yeah, you should trust, you should probably get on that since your info is Googleable.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (49m 54s):

You know what? It’s okay. This is new news then. If you follow bank’s power this, you may not have heard of this, but we have released as of right now,

Sean P. Holman (50m 4s):

As of now,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (50m 5s):

The cool runner oil pan and the cool runner oil pan is for the 2017 to 2019 durmax and the 2020 to current durmax. You got stock and there’s one competitor. And this is by far superior in every way. Not only does it add to quartz capacity, but the exterior fin cooling area crutches. The competition, the interior fin count is way better the, from the drainage to, there’s so much better about these oil pans and it gets better because we have released the Ram air transmission pan. And that is for all the Alice one thousands from oh one to 2019.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (50m 49s):

And we’ll soon in a couple of months have one for the 2020 to 20 24 10 speed GM transmission. And this one has a Ram air scoop that captures all the air as you’re driving along and funnels it through the long thin fins and out cools everything else that’s out there. And it’s, it’s pretty groundbreaking. We already, Gail already has the patent on the Ramir trans pan, but here’s

Sean P. Holman (51m 12s):

How has somebody not thought about that before?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (51m 14s):

We don’t know. We Don don’t know. It just seems that’s

Sean P. Holman (51m 17s):

Really obvious.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (51m 18s):

Yeah, I, I think I need to do this though. Hold on a second. We need to call Billy. Thanks.

8 (51m 28s):

Hey, Jay. What’s up

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (51m 29s):

Billy? You’re live on the air of The. Truck. Show Podcast with Holman.

Sean P. Holman (51m 33s):

Billy you up?

8 (51m 37s):

What’s off Sean?

Sean P. Holman (51m 38s):

I did a Google search and a listener tipped us off and I’m staring right now at a Google search for the cool runner oil pan, the ram air transmission pan and the ultimate fluid cooling bundle. Seeing pictures right here on my Google search.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (51m 52s):

I was forced to debut this like make a world premier announcement. We weren’t gonna do this, but now it’s, it’s live somehow, but it’s 4 0 4 when you click the links. But somehow Google scrubbed our pages and it’s, if you Google coal runner oil pan for 20 20, 24, 4 Chevy GMCL five P, it pops the freaking up. What

8 (52m 14s):

I, I’m willing to bet, I’m willing to bet that Google scrubbed the site when we had it live for a few hours while we were testing.

Sean P. Holman (52m 21s):

See, I told you that. Oh my gosh. I asked light, did you have it live for a moment and then pull it off? ’cause no, we,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (52m 26s):

I didn’t remember when did we have it live? Billy

8 (52m 30s):

Friday? Remember we were gonna launch everything Friday we were having, we had to

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (52m 34s):

Testing. That’s right. ’cause the bundle, the bundle app wasn’t working,

Sean P. Holman (52m 37s):

I would say right there. It was about four days ago.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (52m 38s):

Yeah. Yeah. That’s it. All right, well that explains it all, Billy. Well,

8 (52m 42s):

And, I got, got the bundle part almost solved. So if I get this solved, they’ll be live tomorrow.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (52m 46s):

Oh, fantastic.

Sean P. Holman (52m 47s):

All right. So then this whole segment, you can just throw it away.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (52m 50s):

No, it’s funny.

Sean P. Holman (52m 50s):

It’s still funny. It’s funny. No, it’s funny is if Billy promises to have it live, tomorrow’s that. Still not.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (52m 55s):

No, listen. Well, they’re gonna Google it anyway.

Sean P. Holman (52m 58s):

Tease

8 (52m 58s):

The people, especially if you listen to this podcast in a month.

Sean P. Holman (53m 2s):

Love, love that too.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (53m 2s):

They’re super confused then. Alright, well good work kind of Billy.

Sean P. Holman (53m 6s):

Yeah, keep up the good work, Billy.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (53m 7s):

Alright. Alright,

8 (53m 8s):

Bye. All right. Talk to you guys later. Bye. Bye.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (53m 11s):

Yeah, interesting. Now it all makes sense. It was up for like, there you go. Half an hour.

Sean P. Holman (53m 16s):

Just enough for the,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (53m 17s):

Just enough to get crawled. Yeah, there you go. Man. Google is efficient. I

Sean P. Holman (53m 21s):

Knew, I wonder what would happen if we did the same search and DuckDuckGo

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (53m 25s):

Try it. I don’t think well duck, duck. Yo. They use Bing as a search engine, so I don’t know how often bing crawls. It’s, I don’t, I can’t imagine is as aggressive as Google. Let’s

Sean P. Holman (53m 37s):

See. All right, let’s see. Duck, duck go. Oh, there it is. Where is it? Ultimate Fluid Cooling bundle 20. Oh, I have the wrong screen up for

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (53m 43s):

You. Let’s, that’s Google. There you go. Holy crap.

Sean P. Holman (53m 46s):

DuckDuckGo found it too.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (53m 48s):

Well that sucks. All right. Live and learn. Yeah. All right, well if you guys have a durmax, you got some

Sean P. Holman (53m 55s):

Buying to

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (53m 55s):

Do, get your panties together. ’cause these are, you want these, I can promise you that. Okay, then I’ll read the next one here. This one is from Wade Goldsmith. After the bollards and the madness, I give you the fallout shelter.

Sean P. Holman (54m 10s):

Oh, interesting. Is that to hide from your wife who’s still pissed at

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (54m 13s):

You? I don’t know. This is a Facebook real link. Yeah, it’s

Sean P. Holman (54m 16s):

A link to how to build a fallout shelter at your house.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (54m 19s):

But Don don’t need a fallout shelter. This is, I don’t

Sean P. Holman (54m 21s):

Is your wife mad or not still?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (54m 23s):

No, she, she’s

Sean P. Holman (54m 24s):

Fine with

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (54m 24s):

Bollard. She’s, she’s not fine with it. She’s over it though. I mean, she’s less agitated than when you spoke to her.

Sean P. Holman (54m 32s):

Okay.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (54m 33s):

And, and that, and by the way, for the record, she’s put them up and down like two or three times since then. Oh.

Sean P. Holman (54m 38s):

So I have to text her and Colorado

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (54m 39s):

And so out of, out of duress though, you know what I mean? Or under duress I should say. Hmm. It’s because I, I left and left, you know, like she was literally trapped. She’s like, I need to go to the grocery store.

Sean P. Holman (54m 51s):

So You made her, you, you trapped her to make her bend your well.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (54m 54s):

But she, and then I took the key with me, a

Sean P. Holman (54m 55s):

Healthy marriage.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (54m 56s):

I, I took the key with me. She’s like, you trapped me and you took the key. I’m like, no, there’s a spare key. And I told her where to find it. She Wow. Just thinking. They

Sean P. Holman (55m 3s):

Were like, I thought I felt somebody swearing you out and now I know it wasn’t me.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (55m 7s):

Yeah. So I don’t need the bunker to my knowledge, but thank you for sending that Wade.

Sean P. Holman (55m 13s):

All right, so we got this one here from rb. So Ray of course sends us messages all the time and he says he’s had a bone to pick with us. He’s like, Hey, credit work Chris do Ballard Mania. Hey, Lighting and Holman listening to truck show podcast season two, episode one 16 today, circa timestamp 0 0 0 4 25. Just

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (55m 32s):

He loves his details.

Sean P. Holman (55m 33s):

I know Jay’s Ballard video blowing up it all of a, sounded like at 0 0 0 4 34, Sean was saying to Jay, you’re welcome for the Ballard idea. I could have misunderstood Sean at that moment. Maybe he wasn’t claiming the Ballard idea for himself or maybe he was saying, you’re welcome. Yes, he

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (55m 47s):

Did. He tried to claim it.

Sean P. Holman (55m 48s):

Oh, hold on. For encouraging Jay to post the Ballard videos. YouTube and Instagram went viral. Viral. But if you go back to season two, episode 74, which aired on 3 23 24 at timestamp. Oh 1 53 50. I’m pretty sure my suggestion of retractable bollards was the first mention of it in the email I sent to TSP on 3 15 20 24. At that time, Jay dismissed the idea outta hand and Sean steer the discussion to a rolling rot iron gate. But unless retractable ballers have been discussed by someone off the air before three 15, I’m pretty sure my email was the original suggestion to Jay of the retractable ballers. Apologies if I misunderstood Sean while listen to season two, episode one 16. I wouldn’t have brought it up. But knowing how much you guys prize accuracy and proper accreditation. Yeah, yeah.

Sean P. Holman (56m 28s):

Right. Figured it’d be best to clarify the record as I know it. By the way, as a non Instagram person, I tried to find the viral bollard video on Jay’s YouTube channel, but I can only find Jay’s follow-up video. What am I doing wrong, Ray? And then he said, oh nevermind the last sentence below. I found the YouTube videos at 10:00 PM on 8 24 24. It shows 36.9 million views and over 27,000 comments. That’s some crazy shit all. So Ray, here’s the thing. I had brought it up off the air to Mr. Lightning and he dismissed me and then I brought it back up because your email said it. And I’m like, dude, you, I’m not

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (57m 0s):

The only one. So email, so the email was validation is what you’re saying.

Sean P. Holman (57m 2s):

The email was validation for a conversation we had earlier. So Ray, I’m gonna chalk that up to a point for each of us.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (57m 7s):

By the way, I want you to see this and I’m not gloating ’cause it, I don’t give a rat’s ass anymore. ’cause now it’s just comedy. Look at that number right there. Second one from the bottom.

Sean P. Holman (57m 15s):

55,000 views. No

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (57m 17s):

Wrong one. Oh,

Sean P. Holman (57m 18s):

87,000 views wrong.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (57m 19s):

One

Sean P. Holman (57m 19s):

42 million views.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (57m 20s):

42 million views.

Sean P. Holman (57m 22s):

What, what are those other

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (57m 23s):

Videos? Isn’t that insane? Those are follow up videos. Those are just

Sean P. Holman (57m 26s):

Ballard follow up videos. Yeah.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (57m 27s):

Ah, you haven’t seen any of my Ballard follow up

Sean P. Holman (57m 30s):

Videos? I haven watched one of your bollard videos. Well

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (57m 32s):

That’s tragic. No, that’s not true. You did see the one where I’m sitting, I had the fake news conference where you stopped. Well

Sean P. Holman (57m 37s):

That’s where, that’s where I boned out. And I didn’t finish it.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (57m 39s):

That one’s at the top right

Sean P. Holman (57m 40s):

There. Yeah, I was like this. I showed my wife and she just shook her head. She’s like, then I shook my head and we went on with her day

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (57m 46s):

Like Yeah. It’s like he’s an idiot. I mean, I’d be saying the same thing.

Sean P. Holman (57m 49s):

I didn’t say it out loud like that, but wait,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (57m 50s):

I would’ve, okay. I’m an idiot. I’m, I’m having some fun with it. It’s kind of neat.

Sean P. Holman (57m 56s):

Okay.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (57m 56s):

I’m not taking it nearly as seriously as some of the, the commenters. Holy crap. It is. There is no way by the way to respond to 30,000 comments. I’m not joking. You just let it,

Sean P. Holman (58m 9s):

It’s a water under

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (58m 10s):

The bridge. I can’t even, I can’t, I can’t. What? Like how do you, what do you do? 30,000 comments. By

Sean P. Holman (58m 15s):

The way, Ray is more wise than we are. and he also wrote this email, which I’m just gonna throw in because I’m tired of bollards and this is in the same vein. Sure. and he said, Hey Jay, I’m with you. The Ballard’s the most effective thing you could do given layout of your place. The lack of garage space to fit the TRX. It’s the engineering correct thing to do. You’re detractors are clueless and they lack vision, declare victory and move on. Ray,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (58m 37s):

I’m moving on. However,

Sean P. Holman (58m 39s):

Oh he does say ps. Oh damn. Once you’re satisfied with the bollards, I might suggest you undo any and all the other stuff that’s annoying. Your wife PPS. On a philosophical note, happy wife, happy life. I made my wife happy by agreeing to a divorce.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (58m 51s):

Oh nice. I appreciate the honesty. Yeah.

Sean P. Holman (58m 53s):

A lot of us have practice. Wife. Yes.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (58m 57s):

I don’t have a practice wife yet.

Sean P. Holman (58m 59s):

I said a lot of us, not all of us. Oh

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (58m 60s):

Yeah. Yeah. Although the baller thing may might make her a practice. Wife guy. Close tire pressure. Subject line. JC C Hello sir. I wonder which is this? Hello sir. To who? But it’s to us. Are we one person to him? Yes. Interest

Sean P. Holman (59m 13s):

We are The Truck. Show Podcast.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (59m 14s):

Okay. I heard this is the place to ask this question. And I know you’ve heard it before. I have a 2022 Ram big horn off-Road package that had a 2 75, 65 18 Falcon Wild Peak from factory. And the PSI recommended was 32 to 26. Wait, what? 32 to 26? Does that make sense? Nope. It says 32 dash 26. Okay. Don’t understand that. But I swapped them for Ram Rebel takeoffs 2 75 70 eighteens. And the tire pressure from factory with those tires was 55 in the front. Oh, I see. It’s front and rear.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (59m 54s):

55 in the front and 45 in the rear. When the trucks have both newly identical specs as far as weight, et cetera. Why is there such a huge difference in PSI recommendation? I know these are e rated Goodyear Wrangler Dura tracks without loading and just for driving on the road, where should I be for best fuel economy and tire wear? Okay, so let me go back and tell you that his Falcon Wild Peaks, the 2 75 65 eighteens. Were looking for 32 front and 26 PSI rear and the Ram rebel takeoffs. The 2 75 70 eighteens were looking for 55 PSI front and 45 rear. What’s the difference?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 0m 34s):

Do we have any idea? So Holman, other than the height you, you know, you go from a 2 75, 65 to a 2 75 70, but they’re both 18 inch.

Sean P. Holman (1h 0m 43s):

Okay. So there’s more air volume, that’s number one. But typically having more air volume means that you can run lower pressure, not higher. So I don’t know, obviously there’re two different tire manufacturers, so it could be just in the design of the tires requires different pressures. I don’t think it has anything to do with the road a rebel versus big horn. And typically that’s a low load number in the back. So like the 32 26 and the 55 45. I haven’t been around those trucks in a little while so I don’t know what the door placard says on it. And if they’re giving you, so if you remember on the Ram heavy duties you used to, they, they asked for 80 PSI in the rear, but they’re, if you weren’t carrying a load, you could hit the button on the dash for low rear tire pressure and it would turn off the TPMS at that 80 and drop it down like 55 for a better ride.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 1m 33s):

I had no idea.

Sean P. Holman (1h 1m 34s):

So I don’t know what the, what the placard says on that. But I will tell you bigger tire means less tire pressure. Easiest way to figure out if your tires are the right PSI for your particular load chalk test rub chalk across the face of the tire, drive it forward. And as long as the two edges of the tread are perfectly square or get rubbed off by the road, then that’s where you’re at. If it’s just the middle of the tread, then you are overinflated

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 2m 0s):

Too. Too much

Sean P. Holman (1h 2m 0s):

Air. Yeah. Yeah. And if it’s, if it’s wrapping around the sides, then you have two little air or if it’s on the sides and not in the middle, you have too little air because it’s folding in on itself in the middle. So that’s the easy thing.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 2m 12s):

So what you’re saying though, his question is for best fuel economy and tire wear what you want, is it flat? Perfectly flat, right? With your chalk is that’s all

Sean P. Holman (1h 2m 20s):

The tread, right? Yeah. I mean best fuel economy and tire wear is gonna be fuel economy. Fuel is gonna be overinflated. Yeah. And wear is gonna be even with the ground, right? So I mean there’s always gonna be trade offs.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 2m 30s):

So go the, the max tire pressure that has a, the chalk test where it’s just flat. All the treads are making a mark on the ground and

Sean P. Holman (1h 2m 40s):

Then lower it from there. Yeah,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 2m 43s):

There you go. That was a little complicated answer but I think we’re, I think

Sean P. Holman (1h 2m 46s):

We’re there. Alright, I got this one from Jake Palmgren, NTO Comedy from Jake Prius, one of our god long, long time listeners. He says, dear viral sensation and not so viral sensation, Jake Prius here with a nugget of comedy Recently on the show you’ve been covering the 11 to 16 Durmax CP four fuel pump failure. Well guess what? Thanks to your jinxy, my 16 durmax CP four left the chat a few weeks back. Take a guess at how much, maybe leave a pause for suspense. How does the tune of $15,000 sound? Ha. Pretty funny, right? Anyways, The truck is now repaired and had the entire fuel system replaced since it really took everything.

Sean P. Holman (1h 3m 31s):

I have a short clip of what it sounded like before it failed of

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 3m 34s):

Which, yes, just play, play, play.

Sean P. Holman (1h 3m 35s):

I’m happy to forward so please forward that. Oh

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 3m 37s):

He didn’t sit it yet. No dude. Sand. So to help

Sean P. Holman (1h 3m 39s):

Inform our community of truckers, I’m now using hotshot secret Diesel Extreme religiously and have been toying with the idea of adding lubricity with a TF, which was an idea from an old head here in Sonoma Valley with his 12 valve Cummins. Thanks for all the great news recently. And some great guests working on getting GM to fork back half of what I paid for the darn pump. Also looking forward to any and all recommendations for my 16 durmax to keep her running strong for years to come. And that’s Jake Prius. Or maybe now can be Dura Jake Max. Yeah.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 4m 8s):

$15,000. That’s lot ’cause your CP four aid itself and set shrapnel through the fueling system. Yeah. Oh it’s awful. It’s awful. People don’t realize how much injectors cost and

Sean P. Holman (1h 4m 23s):

All of it.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 4m 24s):

Oh it’s painful. Lightning and Holman starts Robert Gabrielson. Hello from down the street. Eastside. hb Yo. I’m a long time listener since episode one. And. I’m northwest side. But you both, you don, you’re north northwest side. I’m

Sean P. Holman (1h 4m 38s):

Northwest hb. Yeah,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 4m 39s):

Do do you just like northwest

Sean P. Holman (1h 4m 41s):

Northwest.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 4m 42s):

Geez if any of you guys. Both since the K Rock and magazine day. So I wanted to write in and let you guys know that I picked up one of the habanero soldering iron kits and finally got a chance to put to use on a stereo install last weekend. This thing is incredible. Heats up quick and so much better to hold than my Milwaukee M 18 with its giant battery and it’s much easier to charge and refill than my old butane cordless. I’m totally sold on it. And beside that, Chris is an awesome guy. It by the way, it sounds like Chris has been following up everyone who’s purchased one. Yeah, he’s been hitting up with like a personal note, which is I think is That’s awesome.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 5m 23s):

Pretty damn good customer service. Yeah, no kidding. So anyway, he says, I daily drive a 22 Ram Big horn, a V eight four by four pretty much bone stock except for the wheels and a bed cover. And since I’m a long time soak cow guy, of course I had mini truck route here in the nineties outta a 94 Toyota extra cab long bed that was both convertible and walkthrough. Damn. With the solid side snug top AL’S and a notched frame running on air shocks and bump stops, which could take off zot dots. And now are they, are they Z bot dots? He said Zot dots with Z bot dots. Yours are bots

Sean P. Holman (1h 6m 1s):

Dots. That’s what they’re,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 6m 2s):

Is that, is that the brand name? Why did we call ’em Bots

Sean P. Holman (1h 6m 4s):

Dots? That’s the name. That’s what Their name is their

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 6m 6s):

Name. Oh really? They have, they’re called, well he called ’em Zot Dots. Yeah, they’re bots. The Newport Beach PD used to love me. Oh dude, I feel like we, we know the same cops. Anyhow, keep up the awesome show and keep mounting those parameters. By the way,

Sean P. Holman (1h 6m 17s):

Bots dots are named after Albert er bots. A California Department of Transportation, Caltrans engineer credited with overseeing the research that led to the development of these particular markers. Bots dots are most commonly wiped but maybe yellow and used to substitute for the yellow lines that divide opposing traffic in North America. California bots dots are made of ceramic, other dots may be made of inferior materials like plastic and polyester. There you go. People. California doesn’t take everything. Sometimes we give.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 6m 45s):

All right. Well, so anyway, it’s not zottz it bots and here you go. Master

9 (1h 6m 50s):

Monitor key engine parameters.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 6m 53s):

Good email though. Thank you.

Sean P. Holman (1h 6m 54s):

One last email from Wade Goldsmith. He usually finds funny in Amusing. And

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 6m 59s):

By the way, it’s structural podcast at gmail dot com. Lightning at structural podcast dot com or Holman at structural podcast dot com.

Sean P. Holman (1h 7m 5s):

So he sends this screenshot, it says, basically there is relief coming for TRX owners and it shows the new RHO, which looks like A TRX. He goes, somebody had posted on Instagram can’t wait for thieves to steal these thinking. They got a TRX.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 7m 21s):

Yeah, someone said that I should put the RHO badge on the, on the rear bumpers. On the hips. Oh am like, nah, I’m not gonna, I’m not gonna def foul my TRX with RHO badging. That’s not but it’s not a bad idea. No. Direct show podcast is the email, the general email inbox. Or if you prefer, leave us a voicemail. 6 5 7 2 0 5 61 0 5.

So Lightning has a video that goes kind of viral accidentally, and then Holman posts a video and then Lightning posts a video and then Holman posts another video. What would you guys like us to post next? Is there a project that we are working on? Is there something behind the scenes that you’d like us?

Sean P. Holman (1h 8m 59s):

Oh no, I’m not doing that. That’s way too much work. No, I’m curious. I’m posting whatever I, I just free flow. If I’m in a moment I post No,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 9m 5s):

I I am the same way. Stuff that like I have to be interested in. But I’m curious, is there something that, like we are doing our audience a disservice by not talking about. Like is there something

Sean P. Holman (1h 9m 13s):

That I know, I know we haven’t really done anything with The, Truck, Show, Podcast Social Club. Hmm, interesting. The group on Facebook that we were thinking about starting, which we did, but it’s not live.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 9m 25s):

Interesting.

Sean P. Holman (1h 9m 26s):

Do you guys like to interact with each other more? Would you like to see Truck show podcast stuff on a Facebook group?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 9m 32s):

I, I don’t know if they, they don’t know that they would like to or wouldn’t like to interact with each other ’cause they don’t know each other yet. It’s like

Sean P. Holman (1h 9m 40s):

They know each other. They listen to the same people write emails and leave phone calls and you wanna have a conversation with ’em? I think they’re

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 9m 45s):

Brethren. No, I think we just have to force it on ’em, you know what I mean? It’s like we gotta take our friend to the bar so he meets the chick. It’s like, but he’s not gonna like go and just

Sean P. Holman (1h 9m 53s):

You’re way off the trail on this one. He, all I’m saying is, do you guys want it or not? We haven’t pushed live yet.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 9m 58s):

We should. No, I think we should.

Sean P. Holman (1h 9m 60s):

We we, we could make it happen. I think we

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 10m 2s):

Should because we need, we need to call and, and we’ve been, this is now going on seven years. We’ve been saying, oh, we’re gonna have drinks with you and we’re gonna go live on Instagram and

Sean P. Holman (1h 10m 10s):

We’ve gonna, I’ve said that so many times and you’re the one who’s like, oh,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 10m 13s):

So I shut you down. I’m saving a lot. And now we should, now

Sean P. Holman (1h 10m 15s):

You wanna do it.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 10m 16s):

Alright. I’m saying now, I think months ago I said we should do it and we’ve been saying that we’re gonna do this a lot. Whatever this in quotes are more than we actually do. And I. I think we finally just need to,

Sean P. Holman (1h 10m 25s):

Well why don’t we do it while we’re driving next week to AMS oil.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 10m 31s):

What is it that you wanna do? Like just push live?

Sean P. Holman (1h 10m 33s):

Yeah. While we’re driving They can talk to us while we’re in the car.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 10m 37s):

Oh, the rental. And we need to actually talk to

Sean P. Holman (1h 10m 38s):

While we’re driving there.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 10m 39s):

Oh, you know, just post the page live, but actually go live. No, no,

Sean P. Holman (1h 10m 42s):

No. Like have a Instagram live and just see who wants to talk to us while we’re driving for two hours.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 10m 46s):

Okay, well listen, if you’re not following us, you’re not gonna get a notification. Yeah. So wait, are we doing this on Facebook Live or are we gonna do this on Instagram Live?

Sean P. Holman (1h 10m 52s):

I don’t know. Whichever one works on our phones. Well,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 10m 54s):

They both work.

Sean P. Holman (1h 10m 55s):

Good luck.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 10m 56s):

I’ve done. And we can even do YouTube too.

Sean P. Holman (1h 10m 57s):

Whichever one’s bigger. Probably Instagram.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (1h 10m 59s):

Yes, Instagram. We’ve got a bigger audience, but not by much. Our Facebook’s doing love. You guys. Don’t follow us at Truck Show Podcast. You’re, you’re missing out brothers.

They’re bundled. You can push the button right there and buy AMS oil lubricants with either the cool runner or the Ram Air trans pan. There
