5 (2m 3s):

No. I said no.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (2m 5s):

No. I have not heard. Hmm. No. What you got,

Sean P. Holman (2m 7s):

As it turns out, in case you weren’t aware, Gavin Newsom hates you.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (2m 13s):

Hates me. Or everyone in California, or everyone in the country. Well,

Sean P. Holman (2m 16s):

Everyone in California, but once again, his, everyone that’s

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (2m 18s):

Not

Sean P. Holman (2m 18s):

Wealthy awful ways will permeate if he goes any further than leading this fine. Previously fine state press release came out from SEMA saying that the California governor vetoed a SEMA sponsored zero emissions aftermarket conversion project. So, so this was in regards to Senate Bill 3 0 1. It was legislation that was aimed at incentivizing the conversion of gas and diesel powered cars into zero emissions vehicles. So essentially what it would do is in, I guess, in the aftermarket, and it would be overseen by the California Air Resources Board Hales, they were talking about how it was a job creator and the program would provide rebates up to $4,000 to California residents who were going to convert from gas to ev.

Sean P. Holman (3m 1s):

Like I’m guessing it probably included vintage vehicles, which would be gross polluters. And there’s a lot of opportunity out there right now with people putting ev powertrains in, in old cars. And yet that has, that is, is not to be so according to our friend, the pre Mike Spagnola says SEMA is profoundly disappointed by Governor Newsom’s, lack of foresight in videoing SB 3 0 1. The legislation would’ve advanced environmental sustainability and leveled the playing field for aftermarket conversions while fostering innovation, supporting small business and providing consumers with affordable and sustainable transportation options. He said, what happens when You make your state go bankrupt and run into massive deficits? And you don’t have dollars for pet programs like this?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (3m 42s):

So is it about not having the dollars for programs like this? Or is it about the fact that he wants he’s gonna save those dollars to lie in the coffers of like the big auto manufacturers?

Sean P. Holman (3m 52s):

No, no, no. This, I, I, I’ve read a couple stories on this and it basically, do

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (3m 55s):

You line coffers by the way you line pockets, right? Line pockets fill coffers. Yeah,

Sean P. Holman (3m 58s):

Sure. Okay. So I, it was about the $4,000 rebate and that the money isn’t there anymore, which ironically is partly because he’s pushing the EV agenda so hard that people aren’t paying for the road use taxes and fuel taxes ’cause they’re using ev. So it’s a, it’s a whole mess over here on the, on the, I love how,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (4m 16s):

How it’s backfiring on ’em.

Sean P. Holman (4m 17s):

Just, I love to see them eat their tails. All right. Hey, Lighting, Have, You Heard. No.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (4m 22s):

No.

Sean P. Holman (4m 22s):

So you might find this kind of interesting. I certainly did. Cars dot com put out their 2024 American made index of which cars are the most American and I thought it might be interesting to, so,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (4m 35s):

Which cars are mostly made here? Meaning like of all the nuts and bolts and everything that goes into it? Is that what they’re talking about here?

Sean P. Holman (4m 43s):

It’s a rank of a hundred vehicles judged through the same five criteria as they’ve been using since 2020. So it’s assembly location, parts, content engine origin, transmission origin, and US manufacturing workforce. More than 400 vehicles of model year 2024 were analyzed to qualify the hundred for the list. and I wanted to see if you knew which truck was in the top 10. Hmm.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (5m 7s):

The most American, I’m gonna say the Nissan frontier.

Sean P. Holman (5m 14s):

No, as a matter of fact, in fact, the Nissan Frontier comes in at number 67. What?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (5m 21s):

Wow. Interesting. Oh, because so much of it is sourced elsewhere, not just assembled here. Oh, okay. Oh, let me think here. So in the, what are we looking for again? Top 10? Or you want me? No, trying to guess to number one.

Sean P. Holman (5m 33s):

No, just any truck that’s in the top 10. Any truck that’s in The truck, just name a top

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (5m 36s):

10. Just name a 10. Holy mackerel. Well, I gotta then the Ford F-150.

Sean P. Holman (5m 40s):

Nope.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (5m 41s):

No.

Sean P. Holman (5m 42s):

If Ford F-150 comes in at number 58, what? Or if it’s F-150 Lightning 56

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (5m 50s):

Oh oh oh, no, I was gonna say it’s Ram, but it’s not. There’s so many Mexican rams.

Sean P. Holman (5m 55s):

RAM came in at 43. Okay. And that’s for the 1500. Okay. Which is made here, whereas the hds are made in Mexico.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (6m 3s):

Okay. What about, wait a minute, what about like a, like a rivian?

Sean P. Holman (6m 8s):

Rivian seems like something that would be on there, but I did not see where it landed on the list. Oh, okay. Definitely not in the top 10.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (6m 16s):

Oh, geez. I, I’m, I’m running the ground here. It’s not a Ford, it’s GM something. Nope, I’m running out. So it’s not Ram what? What the hell? Cyber truck?

Sean P. Holman (6m 30s):

Nope.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (6m 31s):

No, what?

Sean P. Holman (6m 32s):

Although, interestingly enough, the Model Y Yeah. Was ranked number one.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (6m 37s):

Oh, okay. Interesting. Model

Sean P. Holman (6m 39s):

S number four. Model X number nine. What

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (6m 42s):

The hell is what truck is

Sean P. Holman (6m 44s):

Made? Model 3 21

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (6m 45s):

Mostly here. I’m sure you guys are beating your dashboard right now. Yelling at me.

Sean P. Holman (6m 50s):

Coming in at number six on the list. Honda’s Ridge line. Oh

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (6m 54s):

No, not the rock.

Sean P. Holman (6m 57s):

And coming at number eight. So this is kind of a, a trick question. There is one legitimate body and frame pickup truck. Yeah. Jeep Gladiator.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (7m 4s):

Okay. All right.

Sean P. Holman (7m 6s):

Hey, Lighting, Have, You, Heard.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (7m 11s):

No, I don’t think so.

Sean P. Holman (7m 12s):

Did you guys go and see our friends over at TFL truck when they went and took a cyber truck to the tractor pole and the crowd booed them?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (7m 22s):

So I didn’t see it, but I did see the headline. Yeah,

Sean P. Holman (7m 26s):

So it’s pretty funny. I gotta give those guys credit over there. So they took their Tesla cyber truck to a local national sled pull association event along with their RAM HD Cummins Diesel. And the sled weighed at 33,000 pounds. So the cyber truck, I, I won’t, I won’t ruin it for you, but if you go over to tfl truck dot com, you can see our friends being hated on by a lot. Hey, Lighting, did you hear?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (7m 53s):

No, no, I haven’t.

Sean P. Holman (7m 55s):

So according to Mopar Insiders, the Indiana State Police have brand new Dodge Durango pursuit vehicles. They bought 516 units at a cost of $25.8 million. As of now, 219 units have been placed into service. However, out of those 219 39 have suffered mechanical failures due to a defective oil cooler. Oh

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (8m 23s):

No.

Sean P. Holman (8m 24s):

And then the defective parts of, I guess, apparently sidelined them because they can’t get ’em. And so now everybody’s frustrated. So is

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (8m 32s):

It harder than getting like the glass property,

Sean P. Holman (8m 35s):

Like for A TRX, something like that? It says the ISP is used. This is according to ISP superintendent Doug Carter. He said ISP is used Dodge as our primary police vehicle provider for the past decade and a half. It’s unfortunate that we found ourselves in this precarious position. We’re having to sideline brand new vehicles losing out on their value and functionality. The citizens and taxpayers of Indiana are being shortchanged and deserve better. Mm.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (8m 57s):

Oof. Ouch.

Sean P. Holman (8m 58s):

That’s, that,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (8m 58s):

That does stay,

Sean P. Holman (8m 59s):

That one hurts a little bit. The Durango Pursuit vehicles are equipped with either a 3.6 liter PE star or a five seven Hemi. But it doesn’t say which one are suffering. The failure in this particular

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (9m 9s):

One, you expect them to go for the bigger engine. But I, yeah, well no, CHP

Sean P. Holman (9m 12s):

Doesn’t. Yeah, you’re

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (9m 13s):

Right. They don’t. Hmm. No. Yeah, it’d be cool if they had Hellcats in ’em.

Sean P. Holman (9m 18s):

I don’t think that’s cool, because I know what police officers do. Oh, they

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (9m 22s):

Beat the snot out of ’em, dude.

Sean P. Holman (9m 23s):

Yeah, yeah. They’d be ripping off supercharger belts, belts around corners.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (9m 27s):

Yeah, good point. Good point. Tires

Sean P. Holman (9m 28s):

Would be gone and Yeah, sometimes less is more, as they say. In fact, where I live in Huntington Beach, we have Eco-Boost Explorer, all Wheel drives and Tahoes, it’s a mix of the two. And one of my buddies who’s a police officer here, said,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (9m 42s):

Did he, did he offer up why? They have the Tahoe tires so tiny. They’re like little itty bitty. They’re like, they’re like 40 series tires. They on 18 inch Wheel. It makes no sense to me.

Sean P. Holman (9m 52s):

The explorers are like that too. But he was talking about how he’s an older officer, fears for the young people who drive the Explorers. ’cause it’s just like too much power. Really? Yeah.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (10m 2s):

Really.

Sean P. Holman (10m 2s):

He says the the the rear Wheel drive Tahoes, you can kick the rear the rear out. But the all Wheel drives under steer. Yeah. And they got a lot of power. So you can find yourself kind of messed up going through a corner chasing somebody and stuff. Really? Yeah. Yep.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (10m 15s):

I wouldn’t expect that. Okay.

Sean P. Holman (10m 17s):

Hey, Lighting, Have, You, Heard.

6 (10m 20s):

No, no, no, no,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (10m 22s):

No, I haven’t. So according to

Sean P. Holman (10m 24s):

A release that just hit today, so we’re three days before the event, it was bound to happen. Rivian has announced their R one T Quad Max is gonna do tackle Pikes Peak. Wow. Along with the Ford F-150 Lightning race truck. The quad max, as we talked about before, has 1025 horsepower from four motors. So

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (10m 44s):

That’s cool. But like, can it get all the way up that 14 mile course? That’s the million dollar question. Why

Sean P. Holman (10m 49s):

Do you think it wouldn’t be able to get it up?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (10m 50s):

No, no. I I I realize it’s gonna But can it get up there and like, like full throttle You know what I’m saying? Like that’s the deal. Well, it’s Will it deplete it when it gets no 11 miles up there? What? No, it

Sean P. Holman (11m 0s):

Has a like 400 mile range Don. You think 11 miles, you’re no gonna deplete the battery

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (11m 4s):

Really getting on it. No. No. Okay.

Sean P. Holman (11m 8s):

No, that’s silly. It has 1,025 horsepower and 1,198 pound feet of torque. But

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (11m 15s):

Like the Teslas were having issues. Remember when Randy, this thing

Sean P. Holman (11m 18s):

Has a, this has a massive battery on it. I would be shocked if you couldn’t get it up the hill.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (11m 23s):

I’m not saying you can’t 14 miles up I know it, but 14 miles. But like stopping and go like go stop, go stop, go. Like is pedal to the metal.

Sean P. Holman (11m 32s):

That’s, that’s less than 10% of its range.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (11m 35s):

But this is using like turbo boost every single time there’s turbo voting electric. I realize vehicle, it’s like, I get it, but it’s it’s full throttle. What? Off the line. Full stop. Go. Full stop. Go

Sean P. Holman (11m 46s):

Stay, stay tuned because Pikes Peak is happening when you’re hearing this right now. So it’s Yeah. Crazy. But RI gotta watch Rivian says it’ll hit zero to 62.5 seconds of the quarter and 10.5 at 130.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (11m 56s):

It’s not made for cornering though. Like You know what I’m saying? So

Sean P. Holman (11m 59s):

Have you driven an R one T? No. They have awesome suspension on it. It’s like a McLaren suspension, but it’s

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (12m 3s):

Not low. They’re talking. Okay.

Sean P. Holman (12m 5s):

It literally is air suspension and lowers itself down. What is wrong with with you? But

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (12m 10s):

I’m saying it’s not as low as, oh, a race car. The stuff that they’re fighting like a Tesla.

Sean P. Holman (12m 15s):

You just don’t wanna see it out there.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (12m 17s):

I’m anxious to see how it does.

Sean P. Holman (12m 19s):

All you’re doing is

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (12m 20s):

Throw, I’m kind of excited to crap on

Sean P. Holman (12m 21s):

It. But you, you go out there and throw bananas in front of it too. And from your little go-kart.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (12m 26s):

Interesting. Maybe I will.

Sean P. Holman (12m 28s):

Geez. Hey, Lighting, Have, You Heard.

7 (12m 30s):

No. and I don’t

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (12m 33s):

Care. No,

Sean P. Holman (12m 35s):

This is not a truck story, but it’s definitely a car guy story. The beloved Nissan, GTR, which came out in all the way back in 2007, is now officially dead. What? So if you think about that car, when it came out, it was nicknamed Godzilla and Legions of Grand Chomo players had a chance to pilot that thing on their PlayStations. But what it meant for the supercar market, it was affordable. It was a technological tour to force all Wheel drive. It had a twin turbo V six. I had a chance to drive several over the years, including a, a Nismo. I remember taking my dad out to Tempe, Arizona for Angels versus Dodgers in that thing. And when I pulled up the house, he goes, what is that a z? I’m like, yep.

Sean P. Holman (13m 16s):

And then when we got out to the freeway, I passed a truck and I think at the back of the slow tractor trailer, we were doing like 58 or something. And by the time we got to the front of it, we were doing 138. He’s like, what the hell is this thing? And I’m like, Oh. yeah. It’s not a z it’s a GTR

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (13m 31s):

In 80 feet.

Sean P. Holman (13m 33s):

I mean, it just, it was stupid. And then launch control could consistently bang off 3.2 seconds, zero to six no matter what kind of driver you were. Yeah, yeah. And you would, you would punch in a bunch of buttons or, or switches and the thing would be like, and it was unapologetically mechanical and you could hear it do its thing and it was freaking awesome. It beat Porsche at the ring back in its day. It, they, there were stories about how the engines were assembled by hand in these hermetically sealed chambers. They had super, I guess, fast processors for the day where they could account for Wheel slip of the, the all Wheel drive system to the thousandth of the second.

Sean P. Holman (14m 12s):

It, it was just, it was a legend in its own time. And it’s just sad to, to see it finally go because it was a hell of a vehicle. And when it, when it arrived, the base price was under $70,000.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (14m 24s):

Well, that was back, what, in mid two thousands? Somewhere around there. So it’s still pricey back then. But like that was a lot of car. And it’s just like you said, it is a, it’s a, it’s a cold car. I mean, there are guys that are so rabid for GTRs. I wonder why they’re killing it. Like what they’re replacing with electric. don don’t know.

Sean P. Holman (14m 42s):

Probably they’ve teased a few concepts. Here’s the ring time, seven minutes and 38 seconds in the wet. And at the time it was the fastest time set by any mass produced car under any weather conditions. So all Wheel Drive was, was clearly a, a a, a boon to the GTR. But just an amazing vehicle. If you’ve never had a chance to drive one, you totally missed out because this is, this is one of the good ones.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (15m 9s):

Scariest moment in all of my motor going life was in a GTR

Sean P. Holman (15m 15s):

Oh. yeah, do tell

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (15m 17s):

I wasn’t driving. I was passenger and I was, I was screaming at the guy. It was a loner car and he was press, we, we go to one of those standing mile competitions, whatever it was like, it was an airstrip attack. And, and we weren’t in the airstrip attack. We were just going to watch it. But he got the car to go up to the airstrip attack in, nor in like mid middle of California. So on the way back, he’s all full of like vim and vigor and he’s like, just watched a bunch of cars go 200 miles an hour. And he’s driving this GTR and I’m passenger. And the one thing is They said, they told him don’t do launch control, but he was gonna do launch control. Nissan says don’t do launch control. Why did

Sean P. Holman (15m 54s):

They say don’t do launch launch

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (15m 55s):

Control? I, I don’t remember. They just asked him not to do launch control.

Sean P. Holman (15m 58s):

Oh, on his loan? On

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (15m 59s):

The loan. Oh, on the loaner car. Yeah.

Sean P. Holman (16m 0s):

It wasn’t on a drive. It

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (16m 1s):

Was so then no. Yeah. So then this is a loaner car. Me and him in this, in this GTR NMO edition. Yep. NMO edition.

Sean P. Holman (16m 8s):

That’s the 500. And something

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (16m 9s):

Like car bonkers, beautiful car. Stunning. It was just gorgeous. So he finds a little farm road in like wine country, and he’s like, I’m just gonna do one launch mode. I’m like, all right, just one. Because don don’t like being passenger at like max warp speed. It’s like, all right, no problem.

Sean P. Holman (16m 26s):

It’s violent. by the way, it was one of the first cars that I ever felt that was a production car that was violent.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (16m 33s):

So he does it and he’s got the horse blinders on and he hits it and he just looking straight forward. And I’m next to him and he is 40, 60, 80, a hundred, 1 20, 1 41 50. And it’s a two lane road in the countryside. I have no idea if a tractor’s gonna come out. Dude, I don’t know how fast we’re going at this point, but he won’t let off Now Holman, the guy doesn’t let off. And I’m looking and I’m like, slow down. I’m not cool with this. And he is like, err. And he’s looking straight forward. He won’t look at me. Eyes on the road, slow down, won’t slow down. Mother, slow down. I start, I literally start beating on his leg. I’m pounding on his leg.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (17m 13s):

I go, why didn’t you just get out the down? I’m screaming at him as loud as I can pause. I we’re going over 150 miles an hour on a two-lane road, not a highway, a two-lane country road. I am now I’m beating on his shoulder with my I am every as hard as I can pound on him. I was, I would’ve knocked him out, but we would’ve crashed and died. I could not get his attention. And he’s three inches from me. I’m beating on him. Finally, he eases off the throttle. Do

Sean P. Holman (17m 42s):

You really think he didn’t hear you?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (17m 43s):

Of course he heard me, but he was like, totaled. I’ve never seen anyone in tunnel vision like this. Like his fists were so tight on the steering Wheel. Did

Sean P. Holman (17m 51s):

You ever drive with him again?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (17m 52s):

No. No. I didn’t. I was so, like, we were on not even at that point, dude. We weren’t even that friendly anymore after that. It was just like, he violated my trust. I was so freaked out. It wasn’t just the speed. We weren’t on a closed course. We were on a country road doing 150 miles an hour and probably a 45. It was nuts.

Sean P. Holman (18m 14s):

All right. I am, I, you’re gonna not believe me if I tell the story. So I need you to dial this number.

9 (18m 24s):

Hey, Lightning, how’s it going? Yo,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (18m 26s):

What’s happening Mr. Jason Gunner. And apparently you’re gonna tell a story that corroborates something that Holman was about to tell the

Sean P. Holman (18m 33s):

Audience. So, so I didn’t tell the story because you told your GTR story and Jason and I have a great GTR story. But if I were to tell you, I wouldn’t believe it. You wouldn’t believe it. Okay. So Jason was driving and I will let him tell the story so that, you know, I’m not trying to one up your story.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (18m 47s):

So Jason, you guys were in a GTR. What happened?

9 (18m 51s):

Oh man. Holman’s right about this one.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (18m 54s):

He starts it with old man.

9 (18m 55s):

We were in a, in a,

Sean P. Holman (18m 56s):

And it was a nmo, by the way. It was the GTR Nismo. Yeah. Okay. I

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (18m 59s):

Wonder if it was the same loaner club it was.

9 (19m 0s):

Okay. We were in a GTR in Ismo and the, the hills of Brentwood, Tennessee out where all the rich people live. We pulled out of the parking lot in this thing, into this beautiful forest road I was driving. and I just put the hammer down to let the thing eat. And as the turbo started to spool up and it took off down the road, this deer jumps from the right side of the road in front of the car, we’d lock up the brakes, the thing slides. As the deer clears, the hood jumps onto the other side of the shoulder and scammers off.

Sean P. Holman (19m 34s):

We drove under a deer in the GTR under

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (19m 36s):

Full lock. Yep.

Sean P. Holman (19m 39s):

That actually happened

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (19m 40s):

Under

9 (19m 40s):

Full lock and within view of all of our peers that were at the same press program.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (19m 45s):

Oh no, everyone’s, well, that’s not your fault. It’s a deer. Well, you couldn’t have accounted.

Sean P. Holman (19m 49s):

I wasn’t

9 (19m 49s):

Saying it was, if would’ve climbed the deer, they would’ve seen it. Yeah.

Sean P. Holman (19m 51s):

I wasn’t saying it was our fault. I was just saying like, if I told you after your story, we were in a GTR and we did a launch and we drove under a deer, you wouldn’t have believed me. No, no. So I, I didn’t even tell Jay. I said, Hey, I gotta call you for the podcast.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (20m 3s):

What? So Jason, did he have a red nose and was it

Sean P. Holman (20m 8s):

Rudolph? No, that

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (20m 10s):

It

9 (20m 11s):

Was not, it

Sean P. Holman (20m 11s):

Was the, it was not a reindeer,

9 (20m 12s):

It was the heat of the summer. Okay.

Sean P. Holman (20m 14s):

Yeah, it was the heat of the summer. So then

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (20m 15s):

Tell after, did it freak you out? Like in that moment were you, did you thought you were, did you think you were going to kill?

Sean P. Holman (20m 21s):

Oh, it happened so fast. I think both of us were like, ah. And then it was like, holy crap, dude. We drove under a deer and then

9 (20m 27s):

Oh. yeah, it was, it was a definite. Did you see that? Yeah. I saw that. Yeah. That that almost happened. Did

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (20m 32s):

You turn the car around and just drop it off? Say, we don’t want this anymore.

Sean P. Holman (20m 35s):

Here’s the thing is, I had visions of wearing a deer in my lap, so I was definitely puckered. But then after we miraculously cleared the situation, it was like, dude, that was rad.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (20m 45s):

I mean, you’ve seen videos where there’s deer heads in the passenger seat, right? Yeah. Where they go right to the

Sean P. Holman (20m 49s):

Windshield. I was holding on waiting for the sucker to go through the windshield and it went over the car.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (20m 54s):

Even if a horse Oh.

9 (20m 55s):

Yeah. Pitch leather in this 600 horsepower rocket.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (20m 59s):

Oh my gosh. Awesome. All right, well, so that happened. So that,

Recording (21m 3s):

So that, so that happened.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (21m 7s):

So that happened.

Sean P. Holman (21m 8s):

That did happen. Hmm. All right. Thanks. Jason did

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (21m 10s):

Happen. Jason, thank you Jason, for corroborating a story that, well, I guess you told and Well, I

Sean P. Holman (21m 14s):

Was gonna say thank you for not making me a liar. Who lies. Right.

9 (21m 18s):

Goodbye all. Bye. Thanks. Bye. See you guys all. Bye.

Sean P. Holman (21m 22s):

Hey, Lighting, did you hear?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (21m 24s):

No, no, I haven’t. This

Sean P. Holman (21m 25s):

Is possibly the best, most effed up story of the of

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (21m 29s):

Year more so than week,

Sean P. Holman (21m 31s):

Month,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (21m 31s):

Year. More so than you driving under a deer Oh.

Sean P. Holman (21m 33s):

Yeah. Way, way worse. Okay. So as you know, Jeep announced that the 2024 Wrangler 3 92 was going to be the final edition and that that would be the last opportunity to get one. And it’s sad because it’s sunsetting of the V eight. And then this week they came out breaking their promise and said, Hey, 2025, we’re gonna have the final, final edition. Dude, how bummed are you? That, and they did it with Durango too, right? Right. The Hellcat

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (22m 2s):

Durango came, now, hold on. But I remember that some of the owners threatened lawsuits. Was that not true? I don’t know about that. Don’t you remember that? Well, I remember there was an outcry.

Sean P. Holman (22m 11s):

What are you talking about?

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (22m 11s):

No, there was an outcry when You did that story a year or two ago when there was, it was the last. And then They said, oh, sorry, just kidding. There’s gonna be one more year. And the owners were like, wait.

Sean P. Holman (22m 20s):

Oh, the Durang, you’re talking about the Durango? Yes. Oh. yeah. I thought you were talking about Wrangler. I’m, where are

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (22m 23s):

You going with this? No, the Durango.

Sean P. Holman (22m 25s):

Yeah. So it’ll be interesting to see what happens, because there’ll be a 24 final edition. ’cause the final edition had special badging and decals and all that kind of stuff. So

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (22m 33s):

What they put final, final edition. So

Sean P. Holman (22m 35s):

That’s what everybody’s joking on the internet is it’s the The final, final edition. Yeah. I mean, they’re not saying how many they’ll build for the 2025 model year, but it’ll be 3,700 units capped globally. And 3,300 will be for the us. So, oh, and you Canadians, you get 300. That’s it. Okay. And the rest of the world get the, the last a hundred. But the pricing deals haven’t been disclosed yet, but the current final edition is $101,890. So think about this for a second. Yeah. They had enough demand to do a limited run, one more year of 3,800 vehicles, of which they’ll get at least a hundred thousand dollars each from you do it too,

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (23m 21s):

Right? Yeah, of course I would do. I think there are gonna be, I’m gonna guess it’s gonna be like 1 0 9.

Sean P. Holman (23m 28s):

One funny side piece, apparently according to Solanis that there was a 83 piece toolkit that was included for the final edition, the 2024 Wrangler Rubicon three 90 twos. That won’t be in the 20 fives.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (23m 41s):

No, they’re getting

Sean P. Holman (23m 42s):

Jipped. You also get jipped on having the cool toolkit.

Jay “Lightning” Tilles (23m 45s):

Wow. But they’re still gonna charge more for The truck. I mean, it probably gonna be high. You know the hundred 2K? Yeah. Oh, you see only 1 0 2? I’m going 1 0 9. Oh. I don’t think it’ll be that high either. Just 1000 more. That’s it. I think of a couple thousand more. Okay. I mean, they don’t wanna be greedy. Yes, they will. Of course they will.
