Three days of adventure, education, and exploration of the eastern Mojave Desert.

Attention to all overlanders! The Mojave Desert Heritage & Cultural Association (MDHCA) and the California Four Wheel Drive Association (Cal4Wheel) are excited to present a special chance for you to enrich your understanding of the eastern Mojave Desert. Whether you’re an experienced desert dweller or a newcomer to the terrain, mark your calendars for the East Mojave Trek taking place from April 18-21, 2024, in Goffs, California.

What is it?

Workshops focusing on overland planning and safety techniques presented by Bob Wohlers, published author and Owner of Off-Road Safety Academy, Discoveroffroading.com and by MDHCA experts on the history of the eastern Mojave, and the flora, fauna, and geology of the Mojave Desert.

Docent-led tours of the MDHCA Outdoor Museum include the Exhibit Hall, Goffs Schoolhouse, Operating Stamp Mills, the Mojave phone booth, the Mojave Cross, and many other items of interest to young and old Desert Rats.

Motorized tours of the east Mojave to include portions of the Mojave Road, the East Mojave Heritage Trail, and many other points of interest in the eastern Mojave. SUVs and 4x4s with high clearance are recommended for the tours.

When: April 18-21, 2024 (Thursday-Sunday)

Where: Basecamp will be the Goffs School House - 37198 Lanfair Road # G-15 Essex, CA 92332-9786 – Located on historic US Route-66, about two hours east of Barstow, CA and 30 minutes west of Needles, CA.
