Having compact, high-quality camping dinnerware and cutlery is as essential as running reputable tires when adventuring.
Good kitchenware is worth it, even if it’s a bit more expensive. I recently tested the Full Windsor Magware Magnetic Bowls, Plates, and Cutlery Double Set to see how it’d stack up against other campware sets I’ve used. Not only do they nest, but they offer fun and colorful cutlery combinations.
Full Windsor Magware Low-Down
The Full Windsor Magware Magnetic Bowls, Plates, and Cutlery Double Set includes the following 14 items:
- Two small bowls
- Two small plates
- Two large bowls
- Two large plates
- Two spoons
- Two forks
- Two knives
- Two black cutlery sleeves
The Full Windsor Magware set comes with minimal packaging made from 100% recycled cardboard — no plastic or Styrofoam here. And once opened, these materials can be fully recycled. Bonus!
Smaller plates and bowls nest neatly inside the larger set and are all made from durable 304/18-8 stainless steel. Their magnetic inserts are made from recycled polypropylene.
Stainless steel doesn’t rust and can withstand exposure to moisture or the rigors of camping. Additionally, these items are also less prone to dents and dings, but I’ve noticed minor scratching from its coordinating cutlery as well as some discoloration from food.
The multi-colored cutlery is constructed from 7075-T6 aluminum that’s lighter and stronger than steel or titanium. The plates and bowls aren’t colored, but they show a light brushed finish. However, there are 15 different colorful cutlery schemes to choose from.
You can mix and match them or have them both one color. Once snapped together by magnets, a recycled polypropylene sleeve neatly stows each cutlery set.
The best part about this set? It’s magnetic stackability. The bowls, plates, and cutlery are magnetic and they stack neatly and are quiet during transport. The cutlery can sit sturdily on top of each rim without sliding off onto the ground. Also, the plates can be used as lids for bowls, keeping insects out.
Full Windsor Magware Impressions
This double dinnerware set and cutlery have lots of bonuses. The set is easy to clean, stow, and travel with, no matter if you’re traveling on tarmac or off-road. My orange and turquoise color choice was bright, modern, and fun. They added pizzazz to an otherwise simple setup.
Gone are the days of rattling silverware or dishes. The Magware magnetic feature creates a snug set worth contemplating when looking for new camp dinnerware and cutlery. The knife cuts sharply and easily.
The fork and spoon felt natural when eating, though I’d wish their handles were narrower in width. They clean up easily and withstand the abuse overlanding can present.
Cleaning Instructions
The Full Windsor Magware boasts a refined high-end finish with exacting attention to detail. These products include a lifetime guarantee and if you’re not cleaning them at camp, their plates and bowls can be washed on the top rack only of a dishwasher.
Note: If you put them in the middle or lower rack, the black magnet inserts may warp from too much heat. Conversely, the company recommends handwashing Magware Cutlery with gentle soap or detergent otherwise their anodized matte finish may be negatively affected.
Overall Thoughts
All in all, the Full Windsor Magware Magnetic Bowls, Plates, and Cutlery Double Set is a durable and clever outdoor dining kit to consider when camping, overlanding, or doing anything else outdoors.
It’s a high-quality set that has a lot going for it. I just wish it had a travel bag to put it all in like Full Windsor’s larger set has.
The Full Windsor Magware Magnetic Bowls, Plates, and Cutlery Double Set retails for $110.99.
