Following the sale of Tepui Outdoors to the Thule Group in 2018, Evan Currid returned to his entrepreneurial roots and decided to launch another company named HITCHFIRE which specializes in gear and accessories designed to expand the use of your 2-inch hitch.
Besides carrying a mtn bike, pulling a trailer, or a cargo carrier, Evan introduces the DIY Swing Arm, a heavy-duty powder coated steel swing away arm with a collar on one end and the other end fitting into your 2-inch hitch receiver. We recently met with Evan Currid at Holcomb Valley in Big Bear where he demonstrated the trail viability of the DIY Swing Arm, the XL Ledge Cargo Platform, and the F-20 Hitch Mounted Propane Grill. On a full-day trail ride broken up with stops in between to hydrate and grill, the HITCHFIRE team, using the XL Ledge Cargo Platform carried a 55 Quart Canyon Cooler full of ice and drinks for the 30+ crew.
Once we stopped for lunch, they switched to the F-20 Grill and prepared hot dogs and brisket for the starving squad.
